Air Management with Exhaust (AME) Models
Design: AM Model with smoke/exhaust extraction capabilities.
Function: Automatically responds to building pressure and temperature needs.
Application: Used in industrial and commercial buildings for more
optimal energy usage.
Combat® by Roberts-Gordon 3000-SeriesCOMBAT® by Roberts-Gordon 3000-Series air handlers help improve indoor air quality and provide air comfort.
Untempered outside air can infiltrate a building through openings such as gaps in windows and doors and invisible cracks be-tween building materials. The primary cause of this uncontrolled infiltration is a negative interior pressure created by process exhaust, temperature differential, and wind currents.
When using a COMBAT® air handler, building pressurisation “fights back” against the infiltration. When a building is pressurised, cracks (and even exhaust fans) become allies of the heating systems by helping the heated air in the building move to the build-ing extremities. Pressurising the building with the use of an air handler does not change the total amount of outdoor air intro-duced into the building, but rather changes the manner in which the air enters the building. Much of the air that was previously introduced by infiltration now enters the building through the air handler.
The building owner, in a controlled manner, can treat the incoming air with heating, filtration or any other required condition-ing. One point of infiltration (the air handler) with multiple points of exfiltration (building cracks, doors, exhaust) is the basis for greatly increased comfort, improved air distribution through the building space and reduced heating costs.

Make-Up Air (MUA) Models
Design: 100% outdoor air with a fixed discharge air volume.
Function: Supplies outdoor air to replace mechanical exhaust.
Application: Used as make-up air for industrial processes which incorporate mechanical exhaust.
Air Management (AM) Models
Design: Variable outdoor air/return air ratio within the range of 100% outdoor air/0% return air to 20% outdoor air/80% return air. Discharge air volume is fixed.
Function: Automatically responds to building pressure and temperature needs.
Application: Used in industrial and commercial buildings for more
optimal energy usage.
