• Columbia is one of the most violent countries in the world.

• Armed groups assassinated 20 mayoral candidates and 20 mayors,

• Gorilla’s kidnapped 200 during the 2000 elections.

• 2001, Fundación País Libre reported 2856 cases of kidnapping guerrillas and paramilitaries, are the ones to blame for most of these violent crimes.

• They do not want war • They have lost many friends and family

members • Their own personal disasters allowed them to

want change• They work hard to save lives and hopefully to

stop young kids from joining armed groups (gangs).

• Mayerly is a 16 year who helped in the peace movement

• She lost her best friend to a gun fight that broke out on a street when they were playing a game

• She started the peace movement and stated the children's vote for peace.

• He lost his father and his cousin.

• They were killed by armed group.

• Juan soon started to do a peace movement

• He soon became the child mayor of his town and went to run and help out UNICEF.
