They say that good things come in small packages and that certainly applies to Columbia River Knife and Tools collaboration with RMJ Tacticals Ryan Johnson to produce NO BOTHER a handy little knife. I spoke with Ryan at SHOT SHOW 2014, in Las Vegas, and with an outburst of paternalistic pride he shared NO BOTHERs origins. Apparently, Ryan adapted his daughters design. As he explained, she not only had a hand in the design, but also contributed the name, which she feels is representative of its intended use. She explained to her dad that if someone were bothering you, you could use it to get them to go away. Someone, be assured it will do more than make them go away.NO BOTHER is a small full tang tactical knife designed to be unobtrusive and a secondary or backup tool for use in close quarters or when accessing a side arm is not possible, or too risky. Ryan Johnson calls it a get off me knife. With an overall length of 5.29 inches and weighing in at 2.2 oz. this little gem is very compact. Yet even with its diminutive stature NO BOTHER is something to be reckoned with.What makes RMJs creation such a functional tool is its hefty flat ground blade with an aggressive reverse Tanto tip; ground to create a chisel like point. Although size does matter when performing tasks that require prolonged strenuous activity, like chopping, NO BOTHER

is up to the task with a massive .18 inch blade thickness, which when combined with 8Cr13MoV blade steel gives this little dude a blade HRC of 58-60.To compensate for a small and narrow handle, Ryan Johnson incorporated some very aggressive jimping on the broad spine. So, the relationship of the handle to the blade along with the aggressive jimping ensures a very secure grip.

The cutouts incorporated in the handle provide convenient latching points as well as placing NO BOTHERs balance point well forward of the handle.The design includes a very nice M.O.L.L.E. compatible polypropylene sheath. It can also be carried on a pack with the webbing provided or carried as a neck knife with the lanyard. Fastex buckles are included for quick disconnect and transportability.CRKTs NO BOTHER is a tactical knife in every respect. As it ships from CRKT it is razor sharp and incorporates an excellent carry system. The sheath provides excellent retention even when carrying it tip-up. There are several features that I truly like about RMJs creation. Foremost is the blade profile. It is stout and rugged; punching through a car door or aircraft skin is certainly doable. Its foot print is small enough to not get in the way of anything yet readily accessible even when worn as a neck knife, which is my preference.At an M.S.R.P. of $49.99 there is no reason not to have one.

Ryan Johnson and CRKT have done a great job delivering a fixed blade tactical knife with all of the attributes of larger offerings in an incredibly flexible package.Ryan, give your daughter a raise
