This course includes both candidate assessment and an award writing examination (CI Arb Module 4). It assesses whether the candidate has sufficient knowledge required to apply the principles and procedure of international arbitration based on the UNCITRAL Model Law and UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules.

Upon successful completion of this course, an applicant will have completed all the course requirements for Institute Fellowship.

Attendees who do not possess sufficient knowledge or experience in international arbitration have considerable difficulty in passing the award writing exam given at the end of the Accelerated Route. The course co-directors will review the international arbitration experience you provide and will respond with a recommendation as to whether you are an appropriate candidate for the Accelerated Route at this time.

Cancellation by Registrants

Registration will be confirmed on receipt of payment of the applicable fee. If a registrant is unable to attend, another person may be substituted with a minimum of one week prior written notice at no additional cost. Any registrant who cancels his/her registration for either course will be entitled to a refund based on the following schedule:

Course Changes or Cancellation

The course directors reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to make changes to the faculty, speakers or content of the program or to cancel the course should circumstances dictate.

In the event of cancellation of any course, a full refund of the registration fee paid will be made to registrants who shall remain solely responsible for any expenses incurred or other consequences related to their planning to attend the course.

CLE FINANCIAL AID POLICYFull-time law students and New York-admitted attorneys seeking a hardship scholarship should (a) register on-line using the registration link provided above or using a registration form available upon request,* and (b) separately complete their registration by submitting a scholarship request, no later than April 27, 2018, to education@ciarbny.org. Requests should detail in a few sentences the basis of the applicant’s need and the background supporting his or her interest. Please understand that without a complete scholarship request, the applicant may be notified that the scholarship registration has been canceled. All complete requests will be considered.
