Tell us a little about yourself and what you do.Creative fine Art Photographer based on Sydney Northern Beaches 1. In 5 words, who are you? Nature’s Earth mother

2. Where do you get your inspiration from when you paint? Predominately women inspire me. By referencing them in my work I hope to capture their strength, power, acceptance, resilience, and authority and thus making for a commanding and captivating image.

3. What are one or two favourite recent projects?Currently I am working on a creative piece for future competition work and plan to develop it into a series of ten images. I am using a completely different colour palette to my last series and love working with such vibrant colours.Every year I produce work for the Royal Easter Show, showcasing one of my three daughters and this always is a highlight to my years work.

4. What creative processes are involved in the creation of your pieces? In the very early stages I am usually on a very different creative path to the one I finish on. Usually somewhere in the process I capture a moment that changes the direction and then I pursue it. Once I have a test image and have worked possible editing combinations I then set out to create the series and develop it. More often then not I have to extensively research both the subject matter and editing techniques and marry the two needs to perfect the image. 5. How do you keep yourself motivated and focused in business? I’m lucky in the fact that there is this internal need to keep at it,keep photographing, keep learning, creating and experimenting that I am yet to have to employ motivation tricks to my work.However the business aspects of this journey have a lot to be desired and whilst I plug away at it like clog in a wheel, it brings me no joy, but it has to be done and so I do it.

6. How do you connect and network with other artists, and clients? Social media rules all, in today’s world you do not exist unless you have an online presence. Whilst I am of a generation that took great pleasure in receiving a letter in the post, I have certainly adapted to staying connected online. However, I still believe it’s important to speak to clients and enjoy this connection.

7. What is the most important lesson in life that you have learned? “Acceptance”of all that is, all that was, and all that will be. Sometimes it is easier than other times. 8. Your advice to artist starting out? Just keep going, there are many bumps in the road but it’s the journey that is the real prize not the acknowledgement ofothers.

9. Do you still have a dream you would like to achieve? I would love to create iconic images, till this happens I would like to produce a series where every single image is as perfect as the next.
