3 years (min) work experience in general oilfield hauling heavy equipment both on highway and

lease roads, and experience hauling gravel is an asset.

Complete pre-inspections and post-inspections logs, and Field Level Hazard Assessment

documentation.

Load and unload equipment safely and secure loads for transportation

Comply with BLLP and client policies and procedures, safe work practices and safety program.

Hi My Name is Susan Ladouceur

I am the Integrated Services Coordinator at BLMS Parent link (Family Centre).

The Integrated Services Program philosophy is to deliver a program that incorporates both prevention and early

intervention services that assists and supports families in overcoming at risk circumstances.

The Program offers services such as:

Information and Referrals, Early Intervention, Traditional Parenting Program, Home Visitation Program and Family

Supervision Program.

We also develop, enhance and maintain partnerships to deliver an integrated approach of services that is

culturally sensitive, accessible and responsive to the children, youth and families within the community.

We will be incorporating an Integrated Services Advisory committee, so the community can have input into what

kinds of programs they would like to see.

BULLYING/RELATIONAL AGGRESSION Learn tools in:

How to identify bullying/relational aggression

How to avoid being a victim to bullying/relational aggression

How to help others who are victims of bullying/relational aggression

Who are “safe” people to talk to about bullying/relational aggression?

Individuals are provided with different types of scenarios involving bullying/relational

aggression. The tools that have been discussed will be applied to these scenarios so that each

individual will build confidence in how to handle possible interactions that may be harmful

to themselves or others around them.

ENERGY AUDIT PROGRAM JOB OPPORTUNITY - ENERGY AUDIT COORDINATOR / LIAISON

The Buffalo Lake Metis Settlement is seeking one individual to assist with our Energy Audit Program.

Through a Provincial Funding Grant, we have been approved to assess the energy use in some of our

buildings and houses.

Reporting to Jason Bourque, you would be working with our consultant, TeckEra, to complete the

energy audits on several buildings and houses within our community. TeckEra will be providing overall

guidance, training and support during the course of the project, which is estimated to be 3 to 4 months.

Primary Tasks

• Serve as community liaison and coordinator for project communication including homeowner

notification and consultation.

• Filling out of “pre-assessment” forms for buildings and houses.

• Overall audit scheduling for building and residential audits.

• Work with Community representatives to gather energy bills (gas & power) for two years for

each building and residential dwellings. Bills are required for all buildings and 10% of the

residential audits.

• Assist energy auditor (TeckEra Consulting) during field inspections.

• Assist with the preparation of final grant funding reporting.

Time Commitment

• hours will vary depending upon scheduling. Anticipated to be 8 hours per day

Requirements for Energy Audit Coordinator

• Physically able to assist with audits including using ladders to gain attic access.

• General computer skills such as word processor and spreadsheets are an asset; however, not

required.

• Professional with an attention to detail.

• Background in building / house construction and understanding of their systems.

• Able to work in a team environment.

• Willingness to learn.

• Good understanding of Community housing locations.

• Good rapport and relationship with community members is an asset.

• Reliable transportation.

• Have a registered company (would invoice Buffalo Lake MS)

Economic Development Officer -Term Contract-

Buffalo Lake Metis Settlement is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated individual to work on a

term contract to help develop and implement a BLMS Economic Development Strategy. Working

under the guidance of the BLMS Economic Development Committee, the Economic Development

Officer will work to promote economic growth and sustainability on Buffalo Lake Metis

Settlement.

The Ec. Dev. Officer is responsible to:

• Develop and implement a BLMS Economic Development Strategy

• Identify local and regional business opportunities.

• Identify and network with strategic partners within the regional area.

• Conduct research on local and regional economic growth areas.

• Prepare proposals and make application to available grant funding.

• Provide written reports to the administrator and council, and reporting for funds

received.

• Facilitate Economic Development Plan community workshops.

• Market and promote community owned corporations and local businesses.

• Participate in regional economic development initiatives.

• Act as a liaison between local organizations, businesses, government and

industry regarding economic development.

Qualifications:

• Postsecondary education in business management, business administration or related field,

or combination of education and relevant experience.

• Familiarity with local and regional economic development entities.

• Must have 5-7 years experience in economic development, business development, and

strategic partnership development.

• Must have own transportation, and be able to travel within region.

• Must present current criminal check

Contract term: 12 months from hire, and ongoing pending funding availability

Pay: Commensurate with qualifications and experience

Youth Sports & Activities Coordinator

Employment

The Youth Sports & Activities Coordinator is responsible for management of all recreation facilities and programs for Settlement youth by providing safe opportunities for sport and recreation and promoting a healthy lifestyle for all community residents.

Summary of Position

Reporting to the Administrator, the Youth & Activities Coordinator conducts the following duties:

▪ Develop and maintain open schedule sports and recreation programming.

▪ Work with other community youth and culture programs.

▪ Assist the BLMS Recreation Society to help organize cultural activities and special events (quad rally,

fund-raisers, National Indigenous Day, Ball Tournament).

▪ Arrange for access to Recreation facility, and set up of equipment, tables and chairs, sound system when

required.

▪ Liaison between community and provincial organizations.

▪ Apply for grants related to youth benefit programs.

▪ Provides leadership and guidance to community groups.

▪ Assists in the managerial function of the program.

Qualifications

▪ Direct experience providing athletics/fitness programs for youth as well as organizing a variety of leagues.

▪ Knowledge of trends in fitness, development games, and other athletic activities.

▪ Understanding of childhood physical development.

▪ Strong background in program and lesson plan development.

▪ Excellent communication Skills, both written and oral.

▪ Must have extensive knowledge of youth sports and activities, leisure, or a minimum of 3 years related

experience in physical education, and significant experience in working with community groups.

▪ Must have First Aid Certificate and CPR.

▪ Must have own transportation, reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license.

▪ Must provide current CWIS (child welfare check) and Criminal Record check.

▪ Experience or knowledge of computers and software programs.

▪ Experience in managing, supervising, programming and organizing skills.
