This format is a WARMACHINE-only event that features the Cygnar, Khador, Protectorate of Menoth, Cryx, Retribution of Scyrah, and Mercenary armies. This event coincides with the release of WARMACHINE: Colossals and allows players to perform Glorious Deeds over the course of the day in a casual, free-play environment. [Note: Event Organizers may permit HORDES armies in the WARMACHINE: Colossals launch event at their discretion, but players should note that the awards for this event are WARMACHINE-oriented. Be sure to check with your Event Organizer if you are considering playing HORDES in this WARMACHINE event.] We assume all players are good sports who understand fair play. If a dispute arises, call an EO for assistance. Players will remain mature, polite, and fair to their opponents. Failure to do so will result in immediate disqualification. An EO may eject a player for any incident deemed unsporting. This includes but is not limited to offensive or abusive conduct, bullying, cheating, constant rule arguments, stalling game play, and other immature actions. If stalling is suspected, the EO should be called to monitor play. PAINTING, MODELING, PROXIES & CONVERSIONS Privateer Press encourages players to have a fully painted force on the table. Games with fully painted armies are more interesting to watch and generally enhance the play experience for all. Although not required, players should take this chance to show off all aspects of the hobby. TM PLAYER RESPONSIBILITIES Players participating in the WARMACHINE: Colossals launch event must bring their own models, stat cards, dice, measuring devices, tokens, and templates they require for play. The Event Organizer (EO) must approve any printed media used to track damage. Players should check with the EO before the event begins on any rules questions they think may arise based on their armies. SPORTSMANSHIP & RULES DISPUTES The objective of organized play is for everyone to have a good time. Players should remain courteous and patient with their opponents and the EO. Players must accept all rulings made by the EO whether or not they agree. The EO always has the final word on rules questions or debates.

Proxies (substitute models) are not allowed under any circumstances, nor can a player enter an event with a model that has not been released to the general public.

All models must be WARMACHINE or HORDES models appropriate to the event venue. Conversions (modifications to Privateer Press models) are acceptable as long as they are clearly based on WARMACHINE or HORDES models. Conversions must clearly represent the model from which they are most obviously drawn. For example, a heavily converted Stryker model is not a substitute for Caine.

Weapon changes are acceptable provided they represent the same type of weapon replaced. For example, trading a sword for a sword is legal. However, mixing and matching weapons is not allowed.

An EO can make exceptions and approve any reasonable conversion. To avoid confusion and conflict, players must have an unaltered version of the model available in case an EO asks to remove a questionable model from play. The EO makes the final call on any particular model.

event rulesThis event uses a free-play format that awards players Glorious Deed points for accomplishments in games, army construction, and modeling. All games must be played with 50-point armies. Score sheets are provided to track points gained by fulfilling certain requirements. All games should be played using the event scenario. There is no limit to how many games a player may play during the course of the event.

sCenario: hour oF annihilationdesCriPtionSurrounded by enemies, two opposing forces frantically race toward sanctuary in an attempt to escape complete annihilation.

set uPAt the beginning of the game, place the 120 mm sanctuary control zone marker in the center of the table. Place a piece of terrain on the sanctuary control zone marker that neatly fits within its boundaries. This entire zone is treated as an obstruction known as the sanctuary. We recommend you use a piece of terrain that represents a safe haven or means of escape.

Players cannot place additional terrain within 3˝ of any other terrain feature.

sPeCial rulesWhen a model advances or is placed during its activation, it must end its activation closer to the sanctuary than it began. A model may ignore this rule if it began its activation within 5˝ of the sanctuary.

At the end of each player’s turn, starting on the second player’s third turn roll a d6. Any models that are not completely within 10˝ of the sanctuary suffer the effect noted in the table below.

D6 Roll Effect1 No effect2 POW 10 blast damage3 Continuous Effect: Fire 4 Continuous Effect: Corrosion 5 Knockdown6 Stationary

At the end of each player’s turn, starting on the second player’s second turn, a player earns 1 control point by controlling the sanctuary while his warcaster is also in base-to-base contact with the sanctuary.

This scenario can also be played as a four-player free-for-all. For the multiplayer version of this scenario, replace all references to “second player” with “fourth player.”

viCtory ConditionsThe first player to earn at least 3 control points and have more control points than his opponent wins the game.

A player also wins the game if he has the only warcaster in play.

Controlling the sanCtuaryA player controls the sanctuary if he owns one or more models B2B with the sanctuary that an opponent does not contest. When checking for control conditions ignore inert warjacks, wild warbeasts, models that are fleeing or out of formation, and models a player owns that are under the control of an opponent. There are no additional requirements for warcasters, warlocks, warjacks, or warbeasts.

If the model B2B with the sanctuary is a member of a unit, the unit must contain 50% or more of its starting number of models (rounding up) and all those remaining models must also be within 4˝ of the sanctuary.

If the model B2B with the sanctuary is a solo, it must have an army point cost of 1 or more. For solos that consist of multiple models, divide the point cost of the solo by the model count on the card to see if each model is worth at least 1 point. For multiple-model solos to control the sanctuary, the solo must contain 50% or more of its starting number of models (rounding up) and all those remaining models must also be within 4˝ of the sanctuary.

ContestTo contest the sanctuary, a player must own at least one model within 4˝ of it. Inert warjacks, wild warbeasts, models that are fleeing or out of formation, and models a player owns that are under the control of an opponent cannot contest.
