Very nice T12 Tissot with a white creamy round dial from the 1970’s. It is a very colorful chronograph with 3 black sub dials, minutes at 3, hours at 6 and seconds at 9 o’clock. The watch comes with silver color batons for every five minutes and white Arabic numerals in the sub dials. Hands are in steel with large “Obelisque” hands. The hand for the chrono is red. The watch comes with a black outside tachymeter scaled up to 1000. The crown comes with the Tissot logo. The watch has a solid stainless steel case and a shape very familiar with the 1970’s. In the back, there is a engraved boat design. The watch has a manual winding movement with a Tissot 873 caliber (Lemania 1340). The watch comes with its original stainless steel band with a deployant buckle.

Tissot Cie was founded in Le Locle in 1853 by Charles Felicien and Charles Emile Tissot. Their objective was to supply the world in particular Russia and the United States with quality pieces. In 1904 came the “Tsar’s watch”. In 1920, Tissot started to manufacture their own movements. 1929 is a key moment as Omega and Tissot join their efforts and form the “SSIH” Societe Suisse pour l’Industrie Horlogere. Tissot targeted the medium priced market with 42 models. Tissot is known for owning the 28.5N21 automatic caliber, however for its chronograph, Tissot used Lemania movements, its sister’s company.
