NEW FOR 2020The U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum celebrates the inspired legacies of Team USA athletes. The 60,000 square-foot museum will feature artifacts, athlete stories and state-of-the-art multimedia components that allows for a completely tailored experience. The site will be one of the most accessible museums in the world and showcase the globe’s most extensive torch collection.
Also slated for a 2020 completion, the 104,000 square-foot William J. Hybl Sports Medicine and Performance Center at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. This first-of-its-kind facility will integrate undergraduate and graduate education with clinical practice and research in a sports medicine and performance environment.
COMING IN 2021The new Downtown Stadium will serve as the permanent home of the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC, a member of the USL Championship soccer league. Anticipated to have 8,000 spectator seats for sporting events (expandable up to 15,000) and an 85,000 square foot playing field, the site will also host Olympic related events, tournaments, competitions and camps. Plans for the stadium include synthetic turf, best-in-class lighting and data, high-def digital video production and a distributed sound system.
The Edward J. Robson Arena, an indoor events center, will feature 3,000 permanent seats and capabilities to host ice-based events with the flexibility to accommodate a variety of indoor sports and special events. The planned arena is comparable in size to Division I hockey programs.
ON THE HORIZONPlanning is underway for a brand-new, Curling Rink Project. Coming in 2022, the venue will be the new home for The Broadmoor Curling Club, provide an opportunity to host regional and national curling events and a variety of special events. Proposed features for the entire 34,700 square-foot site will include a restaurant complete with bar and patio, meeting space, a pro shop, lockers and offices.
