Actions through Grassroots Program
• Awards & Action Alert program, communicating directly with elected officials
Actively Support Highway Funding at Federal & State
• Alignment & Support of NSSGA/NRMCA/TCC
• CCIC – Progress with CCA,CAPA, CSSGA
• Moving towards a referred measure this session on transportation funding. Hired group to pull together actions under the dome. Blueprint Strategies
• Now focused on alignment with elected officials and throughout state (with other associations).

Gas Tax No Longer Sustainable Funding Source• Federal and state gas taxes have been fixed
for more than two decades
• Revenue has steadily declined as Coloradans burn less gasoline in more fuel-efficient cars
• According to an Inside Energy analysis, after adjusting for inflation, CDOT is taking in 30 percent less money from gas taxes now than it did in 2000

• Transportation represents one of the smallest portions of the Colorado state budgetat just over 5 percent in FY2015-16.

In working with legislators, elected officials and transportation stakeholders, CCIC has identified the following principles for moving forward:
• An increase to the state sales and use tax (currently 2.9 percent) between 1/2 and ¾ cents per $1 spent.

• Restructured our Program Manager position
• Bring Professional Engineer (PE) on staff
• Required for ACI Examiner of Record (EOR)
• Monitor and lead CRMCA 3 Market Committees, Tech Committees (including Specification, ACI, CDOT Partnership, and Educational)
• Include leadership Adherence Program and “Build with Strength” initiative
• Administrative aspect handled by part-time Admin
• Monitor and communicate with registrations, confirm/handle billing, etc.
•Net costs are the same to CRMCA
