Getting Started with Colorado Gives Day Below is initial information about Colorado Gives Day and resources to help you incorporate it into your year-endfundraising plans. We wish you success on December 8, and are here to assist you as we lead up to the big day!

What is Colorado Gives Day?Colorado Gives Day is a new initiative to increase philanthropy in Colorado throughonline giving. Brought to you by Community First Foundation and FirstBank, ColoradoGives Day will take place during a 24-hour period starting at 12 a.m. on Wednesday,December 8, 2010. Donations to Colorado nonprofits will be accepted throughGivingFirst.org, with a goal to raise $1 million in one day for charity.

When will Colorado Gives Daytake place?During a 24-hour period starting at 12 a.m. Wednesday, December 8, 2010.

How can Colorado nonprofits getinvolved?To participate in Colorado Gives Dayon December 8, you need a complete,updated profile on GivingFirst.org. If you already have a profile online,update it by November 15, 2010. Please read “Updating Your GivingFirst Profile” located on the Nonprofit Resources page. After submitting your profile for review, provide:• A completed ACH form and a voided check (allowing automatic transfers to a bank account of donations made to your organization) if you have not already done so.

• Most recent 990s, audits, and management/governance documents.

If you are new to GivingFirst or in the process of completing your profile, it must be submitted by November 1, 2010.To create a profile, contact DanaRinderknecht at 720.898.5911 [email protected],and attend an intro session.

How can you get help with your profile?To work on your profile out of the officeand ask questions, please attend one ormore Help Sessions. They are offeredthe 2nd and 4th Fridays every monthfrom 8:30 – 11:30 am. Please call tosign up.

Resources for Colorado Gives Day

1. To access the Nonprofit Resources page, go to www.GivingFirst.org.

2. Click on the green “Sign In” tab at the top.

3. Under the ‘Sign In’ section, select “Nonprofit Organization” and wait for the next page to load.

4. Enter the e-mail address and password* for your profile, and click the ‘Log In’ button.

5. Click the “Menu…” button at the top left and select Nonprofit Resources.

6. On the Nonprofit Resources page,you will see a button for Colorado Gives Day resources.

How can you build Colorado Gives Day into your year-end fundraising plans?We have created a variety online tools and resources to help you. Theseresources are posted on the administrative side of GivingFirst.org on theColorado Gives Day Nonprofit Resources page. Details at right.

Will an incentive be offered to boost donations on Colorado Gives Day?Yes! Thanks to our presenting partner FirstBank, your donors will have morereason than ever to support you on December 8. FirstBank has provided$250,000 as the lead gift for a Colorado Gives Day Incentive Fund that willleverage donations made through GivingFirst.org on December 8. The IncentiveFund will be proportionally allocated across all donations received, increasingthe value of each gift. We will also be asking Colorado businesses andorganizations to be part of a Circle of Giving and contribute to the fund.

How will Community First Foundation calculate each nonprofit’s share of theIncentive Fund?At the completion of Colorado Gives Day, the Foundation will determine eachnonprofit’s proportionate share of the Incentive Fund by dividing the total amounteach charity raised by the total amount of donations to all participatingnonprofits. This amount will then be multiplied by the total amount of dollars inthe Incentive Fund. In short:
