    Colorado Parks and Wildlie is thestate agency responsible or sher-

    ies management o public waters inColorado.Te primary tool that guides sh

    management is the lake and streamsurvey. Tese surveys periodicallymonitor sh populations.

    During the process, sh are col-lected using a variety o gear and thenecessary biological data is recorded.Tis gauges the entire sh communityrather than a single species.

    Te collected data is used to tracksh population trends, evaluate theeectiveness o management actionssuch asstocking andregulations,and estab-

    lish realisticmanagementgoals or agiven lake orstream.
