HEY IT'S GOOD TO BE BACK HOME AGAIN The Colorado Avalanche opens a two-game homestand tonight against the Ottawa Senators at Pepsi Center.  Tonight is theAvalanche's first home game in nearly three weeks (Nov. 6 vs. NY Rangers).  The Avs are coming off a seven-game, 15-day road trip,finishing 4-3-0.  The Avs won the first three games, then lost the next three before closing out the trip with a 4-1 victory in Winnipeg. That seven-game journey, which included stops in Philadelphia, Boston, Montreal, Toronto, Pittsburgh, Washington and Winnipeg, equaled the longest road trip in Avalanche history.  The Avs also had a seven-game "roadie" from Oct. 8-21, 2009.  It was the longestroad trip in terms of days, however, as that 2009 voyage saw the Avs return home between the sixth and seventh games.  Prior tomoving to Denver, the Quebec Nordiques had a nine-game trip in 1980-81 and an eight-gamer later that same season.  The Avs are ina stretch that has them playing 18-of-25 on the road from Oct. 27 to Dec. 15. LONGEST ROAD TRIPS, AVALANCHE HISTORY 7 games   Nov. 10-23, 2015                4-3-0 (.571) 7 games    Oct. 8-21, 2009                   4-1-2 (.714) 6 games    Oct. 31–Nov. 10, 1998        2-3-1 (.417) 6 games    Feb. 20–March 2, 2009       1-5-0 (.167) AVALANCHE & SENATORS Tonight is the first of two meetings between the Avalanche and Senators this season, and Ottawa's lone visit to Pepsi Center.  The Avswill make their one trip to Canada's capital on Feb. 11.  The Avs and Sens split the two meetings last season, with Ottawa winning 5-3at home on Oct. 16, 2014 and Colorado returning the favor with a 5-2 victory here in Denver on Jan. 8, 2015.  That loss in Ottawa lastOctober snapped a seven-game winning streak for the Avs in this series, as it was Colorado's first loss to Ottawa since Dec. 12, 2005. The Avs are still 8-1-0 in their last nine games against the Sens.  The Avs have won their last four home games versus theSenators since that Ottawa victory on Dec. 12, 2005.  Craig Anderson is a former member of the Avs. 2015-16 vs. Ottawa: ---
