COLOR WHEEL: The Law of ColorPrimary ColorsThe primary colors are Blue, Red & Yellow. They form the foundation for all color. All colors are a combination of Blue, Red & Yellow except for Black & White.

Secondary ColorsBy mixing equal proportions of the two primary colors we create secondary colors. The secondary colors are Violet, Orange & Green.• Blue + Red = Violet• Red + Yellow = Orange• Yellow + Blue = GreenThese 6 colors create what we know as the color wheel. If we separate the color wheel from top to bottom, we will create a cool side and a warm side.

Tertiary ColorsBy mixing equal proportions of a primary color and secondary color we create tertiary colors.• Red + Violet = Red Violet

MIXINGThere Are Four Reasons for Mixing Color1. Create a new shade.2. Cover white hair.3. Lightening or darkening a shade.4. Adjusting intensity of a shade.

Creating a New Shade• Can be easily achieved by mixing one shade lighter and one shade darker.

For example: If you want to create 6/6N, you mix a 1/2 tube 5/5N and 1/2 tube 7/7N. By mixing a 5.3/5G, and a 7.3/7G, you will create a 6.3/6G.

Lightening or Darkening a Shade• When lightening or darkening a shade, add 1/4 tube lighter or darker than the target shade.

For example: To lighten a 7.43/7CG, add 8.03/8NG or 8.3/8G (to maintain warmth), or 8/8N (to subdue warmth).

To darken 7.43/7CG, add 6.03/6NG or 6.3/6G (to maintain warmth), or 6/6N (to subdue warmth).

NON-PIGMENTED HAIRWhite hair is void of natural pigment. It is important to compensate for the lack of pigment when: • Covering• Coloring• Blending

The reason for this is Melanin production has ceased within the hair. White hair is often resistant to haircolor, therefore, L'Oréal Professionnel recommends the following products for covering, coloring or blending white hair:

• Majirel / Majirouge • LUO® COLOR • Richesse • Diacolor Gelée • Cover 5‘

% of Non-Pigmented Hair• Keep in mind that your results are influenced by the presence of WHITE hair.• The color level, intensity and clarity of the tone can be affected by non-pigmented hair. Therefore, it is necessary to adjust your formula to compensate for the lack of pigment.

For a re-touch application on 50-100% white hair, you will need to create two mixtures at the start of your application. For new growth, apply formula for non-pigmented hair, mid-lengths and ends target shade only.

UNDERLYING PIGMENT CHART• When lightening blue leaves first. What remains is the underlying pigment.• The final color is always a combination of the natural underlying pigment and the shade selected, including the volume of developer used.• The underlying pigment always contributes warmth.• To subdue warmth we recommend cool tones .7 /Gr. Green, .2V. Violet, .1/B Blue.

Note:• Predicting haircolor results is knowing what the underlying pigment will contribute.

Superior Control of WarmthWe recommend using Cool mixers.

Extra Control of Warmth• For Majiblond ultra, we recommend 911 and 921.• For Maji.lift™ we recommend 607 and 601.

DUAL CODING SYSTEMThe L’Oréal Professionnel numbering system gives you, the colorist, the knowledge to achieve precise, reliable color every time. For added versatility, we have also introduced corresponding letters.

Natural System• Level 8/8N Blonde is a natural shade. Natural shades give excellent coverage to non-pigmented hair.• 8.3/8G is a single tone shade consisting of only a Primary Tone .3/G.• 8.34/8GC is a double tone shade that consists of a Primary tone of .3/G and Secondary tone of .4/C.
