COLORS
COOL AND WARM COLORS Colors are also divided into cool and
warm categories.
Warm colors are red, orange and yellow.
The cool
colors are
green, blue
and violet.

Each color on the color wheel is a hue
Black, White, and Gray don’t appear on the color wheel
because they technically are not colors

Brightness or dullness of a color
INTENSITY
Lightness or Darkness of a Color
The basic colors in the color wheel are
considered the middle or normal
value
VALUE
Color that has white added
Peach is a tint of Orange
Pink is a tint of Red
VALUE-TINT
Color that has black added
Navy is a shade of blue
Maroon is a shade of Red
VALUE-SHADE
Color that has gray added
Duller than the normal value
But not as dark as a shade
