Launch of the new SOCI 2804 online course, starts Jan 2014: Colonialism, Development and the e-Community Everyone is invited (in-person or online) to a lunch and learn event about the First Nations Innovation research project This course explores the relationships between colonialism and technology development (broadband networks and digital information, communication and services). Considers, from a sociological perspective, the issues, institutions and actors involved in developing e-Community projects - networks and applications designed by and for remote and rural communities - with a focus on the opportunities and challenges for Indigenous communities in Canada.
