Collistar and Kartell. Kartell and Collistar. A historic brand that has become an icon of Italian
design, and a flagship of Italian beauty all over the world. Inevitable, immediate - quick as a
flash of lightning. Their partnership is made possible and unique by their shared vision of the
world, their unconventional approach to beauty and continually evolving creative thought.
Shared territories of expression, they now spontaneously flow together in TRANSPARENCY,
an unexpected, seductive limited edition make-up collection created as part of the Ti amo
Italia project begun in 2014. Like last year, the project focuses on pride in belonging to Italy
and doing things by hand. But this time, there’s a different point of view. In that case, it was all
about the link between Collistar and fashion, whereas this project ventures into the eclectic
territory of design. Or rather: ‘another’ form of design, strongly characterized and legitimated
by a brand that is known all over the world for its transfiguration of plastic materials and a
visionary new approach to polycarbonate.
Kartell is more than just Kartell. It is a ‘metatext’ about new forms and objects which are
innovative, heterodox, cross-cutting and easy to use, reinterpreted with a free, imaginative
approach. Objects and forms that have silently but ineluctably become a part of our everyday
landscape over the years. Just as Collistar is more than just Collistar : it is a continually evolving
‘story’ of skillful use of materials and textures and experimentation with new cosmetic tech-
nologies.
After fashion, industrial design. With a strong message: TRANSPARENCY is the first make-up
collection to venture into the world of design. The second stage in a voyage of discovery of all
our country’s areas of excellence. A voyage that will make its mark.

Kartell: The colour of Trasparency
Color surrounds and permeates every visible thing, and even the things that are not visible
to our eyes, determining our perception of depth. The colour of transparency has always
been a key theme of Kartell’s production. The colour kits chosen for its products change with
the flow of trends and ages, evolving and participating fully in changes in taste and in the way
of interpreting places, objects and sensations. Colour is a form of energy. In transparency
too, the distinguishing feature of the Kartell brand is that colour preserves its centrality and
becomes the key: from the purity of “illusionist” crystal to a rainbow of pastel, iridescent
and fluo hues that allow products to absorb and filter moods and generate emotions in a
chromotherapic style.
This attitude of colour, energy and joy underlies the formal and aesthetic language Kartell
adopts in all its projects. The world of Kartell is a continually evolving world capable of con-
taminating apparently distant worlds with its design and lifestyle. The partnership between
Kartell and Collistar is founded on beauty. In this context we started out with the transpar-
ency that is Kartell’s unique heritage, with a clear reference to its colour palette and some of
its design icons, to create a beauty product; the result is a make-up capsule collection for S/S
2015 with a sunny, fresh, feminine, Mediterranean mood. A collection combining Italian iden-
tity with beauty: the beauty of the product and its container, in a unique, thrilling combination
of elements. Warm colours and evolving hues are reflected not only in the composition and
texture of the make-up but in the way it is presented in its packaging. Its gradual transpar-
encies reveal the product bit by bit, like the first rays of sun in the morning. The graduated
transparency symbolizes recognition of Kartell and this evocative beauty line.
The colours of transparency are not only to be seen but to be ‘worn’ on the skin, modulating
hues and colours. They are fragments of colour, hues in a picture to be painted for ‘transpar-
ent’ and ‘customized’ make-up.
The Collection Like tasty sherbets in bright, inviting colours that just make you want to try them. The products in the S/S 2015 Trasparency collection created by Collistar and Kartell, two well-known Italian brands, are the utmost in sensory temptation, to touch with your hands and ‘eat’ with your eyes.
The fullness of the colour and the bright, evanescent qualities of the textures are underlined by the surfaces of packs and bottles, all ultra-transparent and brightly coloured in a homage to the world of Kartell, a cult brand in industrial design known for its polycarbonate designs. Here, methacrylate becomes a way of releasing and re-vealing all the new collection’s colourful energy. Every little detail of the products tells a story of style and elegance, reinterpreted with typically Italian ingenuity and design: from Kartell’s K logo, appearing alongside the C for Collistar on the star product in the collection, to the colour combinations of the powders and the colourful essence of the containers.
The Transparency collection is the love story of two iconic Italian brands and how their ésprit, their way of interpreting beauty from two different perspectives, combines harmoniously to create unique items. The colours pick up on next summer’s fashions, featuring a tri-umph of pink, velvety shades of orange, fuchsia, fiery reds - perfect for floral prints on ultra-feminine dresses - mint green and every possible shade of blue. Bright but warm colours, full of vitality and positivity.

stars. Collistar reinterprets these colours in the Trasparency
collection, adding four new hues to the Gloss Design® col-
our palette to reflect the harmonies of the eye shadows in
the collection. Though these hues may appear audacious at
first, they are fresh and bright when worn. There’s Papyrus, a
vitamin-packed orange that goes well with any complexion
and looks particularly good with a tan, and Shine, a very
