Call to Worship Leader: There are varieties of gifts, but it is the same Spirit who

gives them. People: There are different ways of serving God, but it is the

same Lord who is served. Leader: God works through each person in a unique way, but it is

God’s purpose that is accomplished. People: To each is given a gift of the Spirit to be used for the

common good. Leader: Together we are the body of Christ and individually

members of it. ALL: This is good news! Let our worship express our

gratitude for we a part of the body of Christ. We are accepted as we are but challenged to be more. Thanks be to God.

*Hymn - “Amazing Grace, How Sweet the Sound” GTG #649 tune - Amazing Grace *Prayer of Confession (unison) Almighty God, we gather here to be closer to you. We gather here to find rest, renewal and inspiration so that we can continue to serve you and your world. We gather here wanting to strengthen our faith. We genuinely want to be worthy of the gift of life you have given us. But in our efforts, we start to keep score of our actions. We begin to compare our service to that of others. We begin looking for external confirmation that we are worthy or at least worthier of your love. Through this behavior, we have forgotten the true definition of grace. We forget that we can never do enough to earn the gift that we have received through your love and your mercy. (Time of silent confession) AMEN.

*Words of Assurance Leader: If anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything

old has passed away; see, everything has become new! People: All this is from God, who reconciled with us through Christ. Leader: God does not count trespasses and sins against the world

and instead entrusts us with the ministry of reconciliation. People: We are ambassadors of the reconciliation and are forgive

and given new life. Glory be to God. *Response - “Taste and See” STF #2267

Taste and see, taste and see the goodness of the Lord. O taste and see, taste and see the goodness of the Lord, of the Lord

*Sharing of the Peace Leader: The peace of Christ be with you. People: And also with you. Children’s Sermon (Children go back with their parents and remain in the service. There is no Sunday School today) Installation and Ordination of Deacons and Elders To be ordained and installed as an Elder: Lorrie Heuser To be ordained and installed as a Deacon: Dennis Kolecki, Jack Standring and Kelly Schuehler

Questions of Ordination Do you trust in Jesus Christ your Savior, acknowledge him Lord of all and Head of the Church, and through him believe in one God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit? I do Do you accept the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be, by the Holy Spirit, the unique and authoritative witness to Jesus Christ in the Church universal, and God’s Word to you? I do. Do you sincerely receive and adopt the essential tenets of the Re-formed faith as expressed in the confessions of our church as authentic and reliable expositions of what Scripture leads us to believe and do, and will you be instructed and led by those confessions as you lead the people of God? I do and I will. Will you fulfill your ministry in obedience to Jesus Christ, under the authority of Scripture, and be continually guided by our confessions? I will. Will you be governed by our church’s polity, and will you abide by its discipline? Will you be a friend among your colleagues in ministry, working with them, subject to the ordering of God’s Word and Spirit? I will. Will you in your own life seek to follow the Lord Jesus Christ, love your neighbors, and work for the reconciliation of the world? I will. Do you promise to further the peace, unity, and purity of the church? I do.

Will you pray for and seek to serve the people with energy, intelli-gence, imagination, and love? I will. To Deacons: Will you be a faithful deacon, teaching charity, urging concern, and di-recting the people’s help to the friendless and those in need? In your ministry will you try to show the love and justice of Jesus Christ? I will. To Elders: Will you be a faithful ruling elder, watching over the people, provid-ing for their worship, nurture, and service? Will you share in govern-ment and discipline, serving in governing bodies of the church, and in your ministry will you try to show the love and justice of Jesus Christ? I will. Clerk of Session addresses members of the congregation: Do we, the members of the church, accept Lorrie Heuser, Dennis Kolecki, Jack Standring and Kelly Schuehler as deacons and elders, chosen by God through the voice of this congregation to lead us in the way of Jesus Christ? The people respond: We do.

Do we agree to encourage them, to respect their decisions, and to fol-low as they guide us, serving Jesus Christ who alone is head of the Church? We do. Prayer of Installation and Ordination

The IHOC men are arriving today and moving onto the next church Sunday, March 20th. This will be out third year hosting the men and as you know, it takes a lot of volunteers for the program to work. With that said, we are still looking for volunteers to make meals for our guests and overnight hosts. We also have a list of items that are needed if you're not able to help out with a meal. The volunteer sign-up sheets for both are in the Narthex. Any ques-tions about meals, please reach out to Martha Jane and questions about being an overnight host, please reach out to Rich Herzog.
