Login Page

If you have an existing username/password: Enter your username and password in the appropriate fields, and click the Log In button.

If you do not have a username/password: Click the Create an Account button. Follow the on-screen prompts to create your new CengageBrain account.

After you click “Create an Account”: Enter the access code you find on the printed access card you received with your bookstore purchase, and click Continue. (Note: access codes can also be purchased online at http://www.cengagebrain.com)

After you click “Continue”: Provide your First Name, Last Name, Email Address, Password, and Security Question, and click Register.

After you click “Register”: Complete the fields marked with an asterisk, and then click the Search button.

After you click “Search”: Select your school from the list and click the Register button.

Accessing CSFI 2.0

Once your account has been created: Click the Open button for your CSFI 2.0 course. Click Continue when the “New CengageNOW Account” Window pops up.

Once your account has been created: To complete your registration, you will need to enroll in an Instructor-Led Course using a “Course Key” given to you by your instructor. Enter that course key in the box seen here and click Submit. You are now enrolled in your instructor’s course.

Taking the Pre-Test

To take the Pre-Test: First click on the Assignments/Tests tab. Then click on the Take button in the Actions column. (Note: By default, you only have one attempt at the Pre-Test, and the Post-Test won’t appear until after the Pre-Test has been completed.)

After you click “Take”: Click the Start Assignment Now button. On the next screen, click Begin the CSFI Assignment.

After you click “Begin the CSFI Assignment”: The Pre-Test includes 100 statements, broken into 10 pages. Respond to all 100 statements, navigating forward as you complete each set by clicking Next.

When you arrive at the last page of the Pre-Test, clicking on the Lock and View Results button will take you to the results page and will disable your ability to go back and edit your responses. Click this button only if you are ready to lock in your responses and view your results.

Pre-Test ResultsAfter you click “Lock and View Results”: Each bar in the graph represents one of the 10 factors being assessed. This graph is a direct result of your response to the 100 statements.

• Green bars indicate proficiency in a factor.

• Blue bars indicate low to high average proficiency in a factor (as compared to other students nationally).

• Red bars indicates that further development is needed in a factor.

1. The factor-title link takes you to a page that provides you with information about the factor and how to increase your proficiency in that particular skill area.

2. The score link takes you to a page which shows you the survey statements related to the given factor, providing you with a chance to see the related statements and how you responded.

After you have reviewed your results: When you are ready to submit your assignment to your instructor, click the Submit Assignment for Grading button. (Note: Once the assignment has been submitted, you will still be able to return to see your results.)

To review your results and study tips at any time: Anytime you’d like to review your pre-test results, click the Assignments/Tests tab, click All Assignments, and then click View next to the Pre-Test. You will be able to access these results and study tips for the duration of your course.
