    A $1,000 Scholarship will be awarded to a senior student in high school, who

    does not need to be in the upper 10% of the class, but is planning onattending an accredited school or college on a full-time basis after graduation.

    Expired Buick Achievers Scholarship Program

    The Buick Achievers Scholarship Program wants to reward students whohave succeeded both inside and outside of the classroomand who may not

    be able to attend college without financial assistance. It's a reward for whatyou've made of yourself and the difference you are making for others. TheBuick Achievers Scholarship Program is offering: Up to $25,000 per year for

    100 first-time freshman or existing college students, renewable up to four

    years and one additional year for those entering a qualif ied five-yearengineering program. $2,000 one-time awards for an additional 1,000

    students.

    20-Apr Charles Eliot II Scholarship

    The Metropolitan Area Planning Council annually presents ascholarship award in memory of Charles W. Eliot, II. Mr. Eliot was anadvocate of regional cooperation, and he was especially interested inland use planning as it affected open space protection, landmanagement, and other ecological issues. This scholarship is open toany senior in a secondary school in the 101 city and town MAPCregion, who is planning to further his/her education in these fields. Acash prize of at least $500 will be awarded in the form of a scholarshipto the school of the recipient's choice.

    Joseph V. Valeriani Scholarship 2012 Application The Joseph V. Valeriani

    Scholarship is given to Medford High School Seniors who best exemplify the

    legacy of Dr. Joseph V. Valeriani, former MHS teacher and past President ofthe Medford Historical Society. The award seeks students with a

    demonstrated interest in Medford history, an intellectual or hands-on interestin historic preservation and a desire to pursue the study of history in a college

    or university, or to apply construction or horticultural skills to the preservation

    of historic properties. This year, the Joseph V. Valeriani ScholarshipCommittee will award one $500 book gift certificate or $500 cash to the

    23-Apr Lawrence Light Guard Veteran Association Scholarship

    Applicants must be a Medford resident for the last twelve months orqualify by right of descent from the current active membership of theVeteran Assoc. of The Lawrence Light Guard of Medford. Studentsmust demonstrate both leadership and scholastic standing, coupledwith a financial need for the scholarship.

    15-Mar Mark Bavis Leadership Foundation

    Any high school student in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is eligible.The scholarship is not academically based, but is awarded on the basis of

    need, to a student who shows leadership qualities within their school. The

    selected recipients will receive annual grants ranging f rom $1,000 to $5,000

    to be used as specifically requested for school tuition, summer programs andother appropriate extracurricular activities.

    30-Mar Massachusetts Broadcasters Association

    Students who are permanent residents of Massachusetts and are in theprocess of enrolling, or are currently enrolled, at an accredited institution of

    higher learning are encouraged to apply for a $2,000 scholarship. Suchinstitutions include vocational schools, 2- or 4-year colleges or universities

    offering degrees in radio and television broadcasting.

    9-May Meadow Glen Mall Scholarship

    2-$4,000 Scholarships, broken down to payments of $1,000 a year forup to four concurrent years of college, to a MHS or Medford VocationalTechnical School seniors who continue their education aftergraduation. Students must maintain a minimum grade point averageof 3.0 or better, which ever is greater. Please see application forcriteria.

    15-Apr Medford Catholic Womens Club

    2 - $2,000 Scholarships to catholic girls who have been a Medfordresident for at least one year. She must be a senior in high school,who is planning to attend any college or nursing school in September2008.

    One $500 Scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior at Medford HighSchool. Student must have a proven interest in business and a grade point

    average of 2.5 or better.

    1-May Medford High School PTO Scholarship

    Two scholarships in the amount of $500 each for one male and onefemale. Requirements are: MHS Senior, 2-4 year college/universityand an essay describing if you were Head Master or theSuperintendent of Medford Schools, what would you do to improve thequality of MHS.

    4-May Medford Kiwanis Club

    6 - $1,000 Scholarships shall be awarded annually to a Medford studentregardless if they attend public, private or parochial high school.

    Scholarships will be awarded based on need, scholarship ability, characterand activities.

    9-Mar Medford Lodge Of Elks

    One $500 scholarship will be awarded to a MHS senior satisfying alleligibility requirements, who have achieved a cumulative GPA of notlower than a "B" (3.0 for numerical purposes) and who has

    demonstrated, by their involvement, a commitment to CommunityService.
