METHODOLOGY

APPROACH (quantitative v/s qualitative)

1. Goal or Aim of the ResearchThe primary aim of a Qualitative Research is to provide a complete, detailed description of the research topic. Quantitative Research on the other hand focuses more in counting and classifying features and constructing statistical models and figures to explain what is observed.

My research was aimed at qualitative research i.e. first; I had collected descriptive data regarding various advertising agencies and their services in Ahmadabad.

2. UsageQualitative Research is ideal for earlier phases of research projects while for the latter part of the research project, Quantitative Research is highly recommended. Quantitative Research provides the researcher a clearer picture of what to expect in his research compared to Qualitative Research.

Once the agencies were spotted, I contacted them and arranged a meeting. After the meeting I expected certain price quotes by various agencies and that was included in quantitative approach.

3. Data Gathering InstrumentThe researcher serves as the primary data-gathering instrument in Qualitative Research. Here, the researcher employs various data-gathering strategies, depending upon the thrust or approach of his research. Examples of data-gathering strategies used in Qualitative Research are individual in-depth interviews, structured and non-structured interviews, focus groups, narratives, content or documentary analysis, participant observation and archival research.On the other hand, Quantitative Research makes use of tools such as questionnaires, surveys and other equipment to collect numerical or measurable data.

For gathering the data I used both qualitative and quantitative method. Under Qualitative method I used the strategy of In-depth interviews of various advertising agencies and for collecting the data I met some architects and consultants and for that I prepared a questionnaire in advance.

4. Type of Data The type of data collected was qualitative as it was descriptive and graphically reprenteted.

5. ApproachMy study was primarily subjective in approach as it seeks to understand human behavior and reasons that govern such behavior. Thus, I adopted qualitative approach.

The data collected was mostly primary in nature I.e. First I found out some of the advertising agencies through various sources as just dial, yellow pages, Google etc.

METHOD OF DATA COLLECTION

Once the advertising agencies were spotted down, I contacted them and we arranged a meeting so that things can be discussed well.Likewise, I met some 8-10 agencies and than collected all the data related to the project.

Journey

It started with the introduction of the company, the product, background of the company and the working environment.Initial days were all about knowing and understanding the product i.e. wires and cables their utility in the market, studying the market conditions, knowing their competitors and analyzing them.

The first week included the introduction and interaction with all the employees. Second week included studying the market and the competitors and their stratergies and the basic difference between the competitors and Chandresh cables. I was asked to prepare a

complete report highlighting the differences and the market study. It took me two days to prepare the report.

The competitors studied included Polycab, Finolex, RR Kable, Havels, Relicab etc.

Once I was through to the company and its people I was asked to prepare an office organsisation chart. The chart I prepared was as follows:

After knowing the company and its product well, I was assigned the project of hammering their brand image in the market.

I was asked to assume that I have been allotted Rs5 lakhs . Using this budget I have to prepare a business proposal of branding for the company.

My project started with finding out various Advertising agencies in Ahmadabad. I did the research via Google and with the help of their HR manager.

The issues discussed during the meetings were related to what all practices the company is following till date and what all are its requirements in future. Firstly, I explained the agencies the product of the company and than asked if they can provide me with some innovative ideas for branding. During the second meeting I asked them for the best price quotes and likewise the project was carried down.The Branding project also included promotional activities. Gifting was at its centre. I contacted various gifting agencies in Ahmadabad and asked them to come with their products. Likewise I met 2-3 agencies and finalized the gifts at the initial stage. Than, the gifts finalized by me were discussed with my director and than again a meeting was held and finally my director finalized the gifts.Coming back to my main project, the advertising agencies came back with their quotes and further I negotiated and prepared a final proposal. And the proposal was than presented to the boards.

The above proposals were presented to my directors.Proposal-1 was absolutely rejected. But proposal-2 was accepted to some extent.Under Proposal-2 I was asked to give orders for Sunpack boards. For this purpose I contacted the concerned person and asked him to show me some samples. After, the approval of the samples an order was placed for the same.

Along with it I was allotted one other project of creating a database of all their clients.

FUTURE

Expanding the market to HT cables.

FINDINGS

The company will have opportunities to increase distributors and retailers and increase its sales.

The demand of Chandresh cable ltd is higher than any other cable of company in the market for industrial cable.

Most of respondents are not satisfied with Credit term, cost due to less margins than competitors.

The sale of company is very low compare to other company. The company provide low margin to the House wire distributors and

retailers. The efficiency of company on delivery schedule is moderately time

The company should increase the production and sales force for proper delivery of the product.

The company should better margin to the retailers. The company should increase Advertisement, Media, etc. Provide more discounts, better promotional schemes, etc. to

motivate retailers for selling the product. The company should established more distribution channel in

AHMEDABAD.

CONCLUSION

And also company has opportunity to leadership position in market of industrial cables & wires.

Finally company should increase the advertisement in local area through the wall painting, hoarding, billboard etc. and also make sure that proper marketing in terms of salesman, which increase the awareness of product as well as sale and also help in compete with other brands of wires and cables.
