MCA DEPARTMENT

The PG Programme in Master of Computer Application was introduced in the year 1998. Initially, the sanctioned intake was 30. Subsequently, it was increased to 60, 90 and to 120 during the academic years 2000-2001, 2005-2006 and 2006-2007 respectively. Since inception the Department is consistently producing very good academic performance and placement records.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The total built up area of the Department including

instructional, administrative and amenities area is

6974 Sq.m. Around 6 Crores have been invested

towards building, amenities and other infrastructure

like laboratories. Department has computer

laboratories namely Software Development Lab

(First Floor) with 64 systems, Programming

Lab(Second Floor) with 60 systems, Research

lab(First Floor) with 60 systems and Microprocessor

Lab(Ground Floor) with 19 kits catering to the needs

of 360 students. Thus, the Department owns 200

computer systems, 6 Dell LCD projectors, 18

printers, 2 HP scanners, 1 Dell Laptop, 1 Photo

copier machine and 1 High End Server. All the

computers are networked through Campus wide

using OFC and with internet facility of 132 mbps

speed. The Department is provided with necessary

facilities to conduct CISCO networking academy

programme at a cost of Rs.5 lakhs.

years by NBA (Nat ional Board o f

Accreditation) with effect from February 2014

2. MCA Department is recognized as research

department by Anna University Chennai from

July 2012 to pursue Ph.D./M.S programme.

3. The Department has been accredited by

TATA CONSULTANCY SERVICES since 2010.

4. The Department has also been accredited by

WIPRO since 2011.

The Digital India programme is a flagship programme of the Government of India with a vision to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. In order to transform the entire ecosystem of public services through the use of information technology, the Government of India has launched the Digital India programme with the vision to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. Department of CSE, IT & MCA have conducted various events for Digital India celebrations at PSNACET, Dindigul. Around 200 Students from various departments participated in several events and received cash prizes for winning in the events.

Association) is an Association for IT development in

South India.SIDA conducted an online code contest

TECHATHON 2015 on 19/08/2015 (Wednesday) to

nurture and encourage algorithm skills of students of

south Tamilnadu. This competition covered 14 districts

of south Tamilnadu in which 42 colleges with 339

teams participated.
