About the College:
Vidhyaa Giri College of Arts and Science (VCAS), Puduvayal, Karaikudi – 630 108. A newly
launched college by Puduvayal Shri Veerasekara Umaiyambigai Educational and Charitable Trust from the
Academic year 2016 – 2017 which is affiliated to Alagappa University, Karaikudi. The Main aim is to promote
and enrich the rural youth with knowledge and skills on par with their urban counterparts is the major objectives.
Vision
Education is a continuous process and Vidhyaa Giri College of Arts and Science (VCAS) will remain in
the forefront and will strive to provide quality education coupled with the latest infrastructural facilities, skills
based, cost effective, transforming the student into globally employability responsible citizen to be recognized as
a center of excellence, which will leave a long lasting impression in the minds and hearts of the Students, Parents,
Staff and all Stake-holders who have been fortunate enough to be associated with it.

About Department
Computer Science program meets the global needs of industrial world. With this aim, Bachelor of Science
in Computer Science programs was offered in 2016 with the sanctioned strength of 40. The Department has
modern facilities for teaching, learning and research. The Department offers a program of study at undergraduate
and postgraduate level. The department has competent and committed faculty which encourages students’
involvement in various co-curricular activities along with their academics. Computer Science Department also
conducts seminars and hands on training for aspiring students in the area of app development and Cloud
computing. Skill based training programmers has been conducted to improve the performance of the students
towards aptitude, personality development and communication skills.

Tamil Nadu: Computer science, IT most sought-after this year
As expected, computer science and information technology branches are
the most sought after along with artificial intelligence and data science in the first
round of seat allotment released by the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions
(TNEA) committee.
"Around 70% of students in the first round opted for compute science, IT,
electronics and communication engineering branches. Other branches such as
civil, mechanical and electrical and electronics engineering had fewer takers
compared to last year," said career consultant Jayaprakash Gandhi.

Google Photos for Android Makes Markup Tool
More Accessible in Editing Menu
Google Photos is making it easier for
Android. Users can experiment with their
photos using the Markup tool that now has a
dedicated tab in the editing menu. It will allow
users to draw or add text to an image while
editing, and its new placement should
encourage users to use it more often. Recently,
Google changed its policy to end support for unlimited cloud storage for images and
videos via its Google Photos platform. Google users now only have 15GB worth of
storage for free that is shared across Photos, Drive, and Gmail.

TNEB Tamil Nadu Electricity Bill Payment
TNEB PAYMENTS METHODS
There are various payment methods you can use to pay your electricity bill. You
can use your credit card, debit card, net banking facility, e-wallets, or through UPI
to complete the payment of your electricity bill online.
Visit the official website of TANGEDCO

On the main page, click on ‘Online Payment Service’
You will be directed to a new page
Enter your username and password and click on ‘Login’. Once you do that, you can
then enter the portal. You can view your electricity bill by clicking on ‘My Bills’. You
can click on ‘Quick Pay’ in order to complete the payment of your electricity bill.
You will be directed to a new page, where you will have to choose your preferred
mode of payment for the bill amount generated. You can also enter another amount
other than the one on your bill
Once you have chosen your mode of payment, enter the necessary details and click
on ‘proceed’. You will be taken through the payment gateway section, where you
will have to follow the instructions in order to pay your electricity bill
Once you pay your bill, you will get a confirmation SMS on your registered mobile
number, and a mail on your email ID. You can also check whether your bill has been
successfully paid on the portal under ‘My Bills’

TN all set to design separate Computer Science syllabus for classes 6
to 10 this academic year.
Computer Science, which so far is being taught as a separate subject only in
Classes 11 and 12, will now be introduced for Classes 6 to 10 in all government high
and higher secondary schools.
