On a first date I usually wear a cute off-the-shoulder sweater

and a pair of cute jeans -- mod-est enough that you don't look

College Relationships!

Have you ever heard the saying college sweethearts? College relationships are hard to maintain, because of three fac-tors: communication issues, third-parties, and trust issues. In college, you find your-self truly growing up and maturing into who you want to be as a person. You think that it is hard doing that on your own? Well, try attempting to do with someone spe-cial by your side like this couple did.

Alexandria Nealy and Javier Lopez met when they were 17 years old while they were both members of Jack and Jill of America, Incorpo-rated. They started off as close friends, but eventually got to know each other and be-came a couple. Both Alex and Javier are from Chicago, Illinois. Three years later, they are still together at 20 years old and stronger than ever!

I asked both Alexan-dria and Javier some questions anout their relationships and I got some great answers!

Discussing challenges that couples face be-ing in a relationship in college, Alex said one of her main issues

was trust issues. She stated that so much goes on in col-lege and you can’t be with your significant other 24/7, so trust and communication is all that you have. She also found that being the only girl in a relationship out of all of her best girl-friends that she can’t do everything that single people can do. It sometimes be-comes difficult when all the girls want to do something and I can’t participate in it, Alex stated. Being that boys are much more simple that girls are, Javier’s answer was trust. “I trust my girl

friend, Alex, but I still ask questions and keep an eye out at times, because any-thing can happen.”

Some of the things that Alex and Javier say they do together include making time for each other and going out frequently, whether it be out to

eat, the mall, or the movies. Alex said, “Sometimes, we do not always want to go out and be around other people.” Javier responded, “Yeah, sometimes we just like to stay in and catch a movie on tele-vision while enjoying each other’s compa-ny.

WHAT DOES THE FU-TURE HOLD?

Alex said: who knows what the future holds :)

Javier said: I do not know but hopefully we are still together.
