Live! ~ 2015 came and went in a blink of an eye. Like many years before it, each month seemed to slip right by without a trace. I think when your year can be summed up with a series of highs and lows, time becomes relative as the moments are what really makes it special. Now that we are well into 2016, let us reflect on the highs and lows of last year We are always dedicated in our effort to becoming one of the nation’s best higher education providers. In fact, our ultimate goal is to become a sound nurturing ground which produces graduates who are of high quality and who can contribute their knowledge, skills and talents to improve and sustain the well-being of our society. We believe in giving every individual the opportunities to grow and develop with us. As much as we want to elevate to a higher platform, we also expect similar commitment from everyone at Vision College, ranging from its stakeholders, staff to students. Only when we have high expectations, can we achieve extraordinary results. Time and tide wait for no man. Thus, we need to set realistic goals, focus on them and deliver them effectively. By staying focus on our goals and pursuing them with our collective effort and wisdom, I am convinced that we can realise all our goals together. All the very best and thank you. I would like to first express my gratitude to my team who worked hard to achieve the company’s goals last year. For 2016, I am fully committed to leading my team to strive for higher goals by preparing ourselves better to rise to all challenges awaiting us ahead. No doubt, when we look back, 2015 has been a year of ups and downs for everyone. However, we all managed to come out of it wiser. In order to ensure the continuous growth of Vision College, we as a team will have to remain eager to explore new territories, experiment on new things and pursue our dreams relentlessly. I think when your year can be summed up with a series of highs and lows, time becomes relative as the moments are what really makes it special. Now that we are well into 2016, let us reect on the highs and lows of last year

We are always dedicated in our eort to becoming one of the nation’s best higher education providers. We believe in giving every individual the opportunities to grow and develop with us. Only when we have high expectations, can we achieve extraordinary results.

Time and tide wait for no man. Thus, we need to set realistic goals, focus on them and deliver them eectively. By staying focus on our goals and pursuing them with our collective eort and wisdom, I am convinced that we can realise all our goals together.

All the very best and thank you.

I would like to rst express my gratitude to my team who worked hard to achieve the company’s goals last year. BETAS was a showcase of 4 plays - “The Boy Who Wanted The Willies” by Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Bandar Utama (SK SBU), “My Name is Timothy” by St John’s Institutions, “Man to Man” by Pelajar Drama Pusat Kebudayaan Universiti Malaya (PEDRA) and lastly “Y U NO Speak Englais?” by Wham Arts Production (WHAM).

This was my rst time experiencing live theatre performances. When I stepped into the Experimental Theatre, I was amazed by the vast layout. Out of the four plays, my favourite was “My Name is Timothy”. The play portrayed a young boy who suered from Tourette syndrome which caused him to be isolated and labelled by society. Can you imagine how hard Timothy’s life was? I teared up as the actor who played ‘Timothy’ managed to carry out his character convincingly. I am sure most of the audience was also touched by his awe-inspiring performance.

To wrap it all up, I was ecstatic to be part of this event. Photos taken during that day will not justify the plays I have watched as the vivid expressions and representation of characters will never fade in my mind now and forever.

I am trapped in the middle of a breathtaking live theatre performance. I could not imagine how perfect the storyline was. The Bestari English Theatre Appreciation Showcase 2016 (BETAS) took place on 28th January at the Experimental Theatre, University of Malaya. Our entourage of 15 members and 4 lecturers were thrilled to be part of this extraordinary event.

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, which means “Atoning for educability through delicate beauty” was written by the Sherman Brothers for the 1964 Disney musical hit, Marry Poppins. In conjunction with this theme, the DMI club organized a fund raiser by promoting hand-made red roses, chocolates and cute teddy bears. Although these gifts were romantic in nature, the main objective of this event was to foster stronger relationships between friends, students and sta.

The fund raiser garnered a very positive response as the team received numerous sales just days after pre-order requests were opened. Given the tight dateline, the team showed tremendous determination and cooperation to complete all the orders by the delivery date of 16 February 2016. Seeing all the happy faces and joyful expressions makes all our eorts worth while.

College Activity Week Jan 2016College Activity Week returned in January 2016 with a series of exciting events lined up over 3 days.

The nal day showcased a host of indoor games – Table tennis, carom, congkak, dominos, jenga, foosball and pool. Starting as huge favourites, both Shorukh and Hanis Farhanah lived up to their billing as they steamrolled their way to winning their respective categories for table tennis.

The dodgeball championship took centre stage on the rst day. The 8 teams were divided equally into 2 groups where the winners are pitted against each other in the nal. The team captained by Adli displayed consistency and were widely regarded as the favourites. Thus, there was no surprise as they cruised through as group winners.

The badminton and football championships were held on the second day. Feodora made a smashing debut by winning both the female singles and mixed doubles (with her partner Terrence Ooi) through immense skill and agility. Hatson dominated the male categories by winning both singles and doubles events. Clearly the best player of the tournament, he demonstrated his prowess by never dropping a set throughout his march to victory. Lastly, Rahayu & Amira took home the female doubles.

The winner from group B was Richie’s team. Relying on pure grit and determination, they rallied through several tough encounters to nally reach the nal. The nal was an explosive aair. Initially, Richie and co. looked certain to cause the upset of the tournament but through several outstanding saves, Adli’s team managed to pull through to ultimately become champions.

The nal event for the day was the football tournament which was played via a league format. Comprising of 3 teams, all games were evenly matched, reinforcing the fact that all these teams were of similar skill levels. Having said that, Solehin and his team conjured a few magical moments in their matches to edge past the other teams and nally emerge as the overall winners.

May the Force be with Vision ...

Star Wars, with its iconic lightsaber duels, has made its comeback to the big screen. This franchise started in the late 70s, and became an instant blockbuster ever since. The latest movie, Star Wars : The Force Awakens, has received rave reviews from fans worldwide, waiting in excitement.

During its premier, Vision College organized a movie day. All sta gathered at the cinema entrance, ready to be pumped up by this epic movie. Some other movie goers were spotted wearing the costumes of their favorite Star Wars’ characters. Our sta, along with their partners, enjoyed the movie thoroughly.

After the movie, we had a wonderful "Vision" style treat, at Kenny Rogers, where all sta were seen laughing & joking away. All of us had a good time, but most importantly, it brought our sta closer to one another, strengthening our bonds as one big “Vision” family.
