Core ClassesDIVISION I

16 Core-Course Rule• 4 years of English.

• 3 years of mathematics (Algebra I or higher).

• 2 years of natural/physical science (1 year of lab if offered by high school).

• 1 year of additional English, mathematics or natural/physical science.

• 2 years of social science.

• 4 years of additional courses (from any area above, foreign language or non doctrinal religion/philosophy).

You must be an Active ParticipantGeneral Rules:

Do not be excessively tardy or absent from school

Create positive relationships with your teachers (recommendation letters)

Do not do anything to embarrass yourself/family

Make sure you take AND get a C in at least 16 core courses. (In Loudoun County, it’s almost impossible not to do)

Talk with every recruiter that calls

Parent Responsibility

Do not accept grades below a C in a core class. Make sure if they do get a D or F, your student repeats the class in summer school.

Check their official transcript

Fall of their junior year, have them take the SAT and/or ACT at least once.

Spring of their junior year, have them take the test one more time.

Take test one more time (or more) during the fall of their senior year if needed

If you feel your child is a Division I or Division II athlete, you should have a meeting with me no later then the spring of their junior year.
