father, because her mother died when she was a little

the princess met a new boy, his name was Popocateptl.He was the singer that Iztacchuatl, heard. He was awarriors son who served her father.

From that day on Iztacchuatl, and Popocateptl becamebest friends and all afternoons they played together.

But one day another tribe called the Olmecas invaded

Tonatihus Kingdom.So Tonatihu sent all his warriors to war to defend the

Kingdom. The battle lasted 5 years. In the end TonatihusKingdom lost the war.

During the war Popocateptl took care of Iztacchuatl,because her father was very busy planning how to win

the war.The king was very furious with his warriors and he

started to hate them.

As years went by, Popocateptl and Iztacchuatl fell inlove. Their love was immediately known in the

kingdom. Everyone knew they were in love even the

King who prohibited her to see him again becauseTonatihu, wanted Iztacchuatl to mary another warriorwhose name was Cuauhtemoc. He was from the other

tribe.

Iztacchuatl was very sad because her father banished

Popocateptl from the Kingdom to prevent their love, andshe didnt want to get married to the other man even

though it would save her kingdom from the last battle.

Then the lovers decided to escape together, butCuauhtmoc followed them and decided to steal

Iztacchuatl. He found them and challenged Popocatepelt

to a battle to win the love of the princess.

The battle was starting, the fighters were very furious ateach other. Each one was very decided to win

Iztaccihuatls love; but suddenly a wolf attacked them.The Princess was in danger so Cuauhtemoc defended herbut unfortunately he died; magically the wolf turned into

a Mayan God.

The Mayan God told them if they wanted to stay togetherfor eternity they needed to make a sacrifice and told them

that their love would be remembered forever by allpeople. The sacrifice demanded that the princess and the

warrior sleep near to a river where the water was bluelike the sky and the moon shone every night.

Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl accepted and decided towalk until they found the perfect place to fall asleep.

They decided to sleep and dream near the river, untilnight came and a magical light fell on them transforming

them into small mountains. The lovers became twovolcanoes representing eternal love.

had advanced education. There was a prince whowas verykind but he wasnt happy because he

didnt have a princess.
