My paternal grandmother was an avid bird watcher. My grandfather her ever faithful

chauffeur. She kept her eyes peeled for first time sightings as she traveled the world. She

also savored the visits from feathered friends to the feeders she kept filled at home. I notice

the birds and their songs more, now that I'm spending so much time outdoors with the

puppy. I'm thankful for that time spent under the sky above. It's thinking time. Pondering

time. Drink in the world time. Puppy playtime too. Recently there were five robins a bit

surprised when Blue barreled around the corner, into his yard, and woofed them over to the

    neighbors.-Janean Baird

Janean Baird is a happily married mother of two ornery boys, one striped cat and a puppy. They

inspire the stories she tells and the art she makes

My interest in photography started at

ten years old, when my father

    introduced me to the art.

    Several years ago, my loving

    husband reacquainted me with

    photography

when he purchased my first DSLR

for me as a gift. That was when an

    enjoyable hobby was transformed

into something much more - a

    passion.

    I have a child-like enthusiasm for the

beauty of nature. I feel honored

to record and share God's goodness

    and creative handiwork. Through my

images, I am hopeful that you, as

the viewer, would be stirred back to

    a

    simpler, more benevolent time.

I live in Litchfield, Connecticut. Many

of my images were captured in

    Litchfield County, or other areas

    within our beautiful state.
