Positive Intelligence - Use Your Mind to Enable Success Instead of

Sabotaging It

Speaker: Dan Forbes You can probably identify with this statement, "Your mind can be your best friend or your worst enemy". It’s true, and, your mind can Sabotage you, without you even knowing it. The good news is we can improve the situation. We can im-prove our Positive Intelligence. Negotiators with a higher PQ are more likely to gain concessions and close

deals Teams with higher PQ Managers perform 31% better A comparison of 60 teams showed that a team’s PQ was the greatest predic-

tor of its achievement What you’ll get out of this session: A free assessment to reveal your top mental saboteur Learning how to weaken your Saboteurs and strengthen your Sage Practical tips on how to raise your PQ to improve your life and business re-

sults Preparation: Please visit http://positiveintelligence.com/assessments/ and com-plete the two assessments: Saboteur Assessment, PQ Assessment. It will take less than 10 minutes. Letter from the President

The presentation last month by Bill Phillips on “Cyber Security in Health Care” was very interesting. It was both interesting and scary to hear about some of the cyber security issues that are happening. The Board met at University Hospital for our April board meeting. We held our normal business meeting and then we took a tour of some of the art that is part of “The Art of Healing” program at the hospital. The hospitals vision is to “use art to inspire healing, com-passion, hope and trust.” This was the first time I had ever been in University Hospital, and I was amazed at the facilities and the art. The art was beautiful, and I could see where it would be very comforting and calming in stressful times. Thanks to Kofile for sponsoring the Boards lunch. The educational meeting this month will focus on “Positive Intelligence – Use Your Mind to Enable Success In-stead of Sabotaging It.” Dan Forbes the presenter has asked that we visit http://positiveintelligence.com/assessments/ and complete the two assessments: Saboteur Assessment, PQ Assessment. It will take less than 10 minutes, so please bring the assessments with you to the meeting, either printed or on your device. I took the tests and some areas were a surprise and in others not so much, I know I need help in those areas. So, please attend the meeting, it looks to be eye opening and do your preparation ahead to ensure you get the most out of the session. As a reminder, elections are coming up in May. If you are interested in serving in any capacity, please let one of the Board members know. Melissa Wallis, PMP, CRM President, ARMA San Antonio Chapter

The CRM Corner By Anne Comeaux, CRM

Did you know that our chapter has a fantastic resource available for free to members studying for the ICRM ex-ams? We had a study group that met for many years to prepare for specific parts of the exams. All the study notes for each exam have been digitized and placed on the ARMA San Antonio website, where they are accessible in the Members Only section on the CRM Study Group page. To access the page, you must log in to the website with your email and password. Contact Melissa Wallis if you need to set up access.

Many of our members, as well as members from other ARMA chapters who joined our chapter to get access to the material, have reported its value in helping them pass the ICRM exams.

ARMA San Antonio even has scholarships available to pay for the cost of taking the ICRM exams that our mem-bers successfully pass. For more information, look at the Scholarship webpage for the Jenny N. Barker, CRM Scholarship Fund or contact Anne Comeaux, CRM at [email protected].

SHRED DAY – APRIL 23, 2016 Don’t forget about Shred Day, scheduled for April 23, 2016 this year! ARMA San Antonio’s Shred Day always falls on the first Saturday after taxes are offi-cially due. As tax day has been extended, this year by three days, our Shred Day is scheduled for April 23rd from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, or until trucks are full. This is the 14th year the San Antonio ARMA chapter will again partner with SACU to offer a free Shred Day for the community. We expect a crowd, so come early. Shred Day, April 23, 2016 9:00 – 12:00 unless the truck is full before noon.

Volunteers Still Needed for Annual Shred Day! Volunteers are greatly needed to help greet the pub-lic and carry their boxes and bags of records to the onsite shred trucks at various SACU locations. Vol-unteers also hand out brochures on preventing iden-tity theft and accept donations. Donations received are evenly split between ARMA’s education fund and the Credit Union for Kids, which helps hospital-ized children. Last year over $660 went towards payment for our monthly educational programs. For more information or to volunteer, contact Du-Wayne Headrick, [email protected]. Sign up sheets for volunteers will also be available at the April meeting.

Shred trucks will be at these five SACU locations:

Main – 6061 IH 10 West Bandera – 8889 Bandera Rd Ingram – 6171 NW Loop 410 281 & 1604 – 1717 N Loop 1604 Windsor – 8047 Midcrown Flyers can be downloaded for distribution from the ARMA San Antonio website as either a large fli-er or a small flier. They are also attached to the end of this newsletter.

Education Monitor Positions Available for ARMA Conference in San Antonio Looking for a way to fund attendance at the ARMA International Annual Conference and Expo this year? Con-sider being an education monitor. Applications are being accepted for education monitor positions at the ARMA International Annual Confer-ence and Expo on September 25-27 in San Antonio, TX. Responsibilities of an education monitor: In exchange for a complimentary conference registration, education monitors are assigned to work one and

one-half days of the three-day conference. This leaves free time to attend the general sessions, participate in education sessions, and visit the expo floor.

Those selected will be assigned as room monitors or floaters (hall monitor/assistant) in only one location each day so they can become familiar with the area and head off its potential problems.

ARMA will make every effort to ensure each region is equally represented. Click this link to access more infor-mation and the application. |
