Social entrepreneurs are individuals with innovative solutions to society’s most pressing social problems. From its Regional Office in Ca iro Ashoka Arab World creates a competitive, entrepreneurial, and globally integrated citizen sector and develops the profession of social entrepreneurship. Ashoka currently works with 64 Ashoka Fellows located in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. Position Title: Collaborative Platform Intern Reports to: Collaborative Platform Coordinator Employment: Full-time Office hours: 9 am to 5 pm (unless assigned to stay later fulfilling work requirements) Working days: Sunday through Thursday, with weekends on Friday and Saturday. Work-related obligations sometimes require weekend attendance. Tasks : The Collaborative Platform Intern is responsible for assisting the Collaborative Platform Coordinator in developing sector mapping and needs assessment in two sectors: street children and people with disabilities. The sector mapping includes the following tasks: a. Conduct a research on the organizations and entities working in the two sectors using different tools such as field visits, focus group, telephone interviews, and desk research. b. Develop a list of the organizations reached out during the research. c. Conduct needs assessment to the key player organizations in each sector. d. Develop a comprehensive document compiling the outcomes of the mapping and the needs assessment. Qualifications : 1. Education B.A. in a relevant field, preferably Social Sciences, Business, Economics, or Political Science 2. Experience and Requirements Excellent writing and analytical skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Applicant must have strong communication and organizational skills. Applicant must be a team player and service-oriented Volunteer work with street children and people with disabilities is preferred. 3. Language Fluency in written and spoken English. Collaborative Platform Intern will assist in launching and implementing our Collaborative Platforms -business-social units addressing systemic problems such as: children in street conditions, job creation for disabled. It will be done by carrying out sector mapping and need assessments for organisations operating in these sectors.
