March 31, 2019ADVOCACYIMPORTANT LEGISLATIVE UPDATE:IMPORTANT LEGISLATIVE UPDA TE: Both HB 7075 and HB 7093 will beon the House Special Order Calendar this coming Wednesday, April 3. HB7075 creates a new voucher program that would allow funds to flow directlyand without accountability from the state treasury to private (includingreligious) schools. HB 7093 would remove last year's prohibition againstallowing full-time classroom teachers to participate in the Guardian Programand carry arms on campus.
Florida PTA, and hence Hillsborough County County Council PTA/PTSA, willstand in opposition to these bills.
Please expect a Take Action Alert to come out Monday morning. In theinterim, if you have not already signed up for Voter VoiceVoter Voice on the FloridaFloridaPTA websitePTA website, please do so now.

PTSA MINI-GRANTSPTSA Mini-grants are voted upon by the PTSA board at the monthly PTSABoard meetings. These grants, made possible Coleman's generous businessand family partnerships, provide the education and training opportunities notavailable in the school or district budget.
The following Mini-grants were awarded for the month of March:
1. $750 was approved to purchase pizzas for the Cobra Crew for theirmonthly mentor lunches. The Cobra Crew is a group of approximately50 Coleman students who have been identified as at risk and wouldbenefit from one-on- one mentoring.
2. $459.98 was approved to purchase two metal, portable soccer goals tobe exclusively used for the Coleman extramural soccer teams (not for
