Dear Residents,

Our new Teen/Media Center is nearing completion and will be an exciting new addition to the Library. I truly appreciate the tremendous support we’ve received from the community, the Friends Foundation, and the Library Board of Trustees.

The Library is once again proud to be working with local resident and former Trustee Richard Schuster and his grandson, Brooklyn Starr, to continue our ongoing displays of historical dioramas. Currently, a diorama depicting George Washington’s Headquarters Tent and a typical American encampment during the Revolution is on display in the lobby just outside the Children’s Room entrance. This diorama includes Washington’s tent in miniature, the only known miniature model in existence. In February, we will display the “Battle of Brooklyn.” Fought in August, 1776, it was the first major battle after the Declaration of Independence.

Please browse this newsletter to find programs that you or a member of your family would enjoy. We strive to provide interesting and enjoyable programs for all ages!

I look forward to seeing you at the Library!

Sincerely,Dr. Roger PodellExecutive Director
