• These machines are driven by a DC motor of varying sizes.

• The motor shaft runs in ball bearings which are packed with sufficient grease for at least 12 months and providing no leakage takes place, the ball bearings will be satisfactory for a much longer period.

• Controls mounted on the main control panel are as follows:

– "Power on" and "Power off/Emergency Stop"

• Speed is controlled by a footpedal-operated potentiometer which increases the speed from zero to a preset maximum as the footpedal is depressed.

• The preset maximum speed is set by a further potentiometer mounted on the main control panel which can be set to any desired figure within the speed range of the machine.

• The operator should depress the footpedal smoothly so that the speed increases from zero to the maximum, i.e. the operator should push the footpedal down fully to achieve this speed. Own photo

MaintenanceMaintenance

• Motors should be inspected at least once a year to ensure that there is sufficient grease in the bearings; it may become necessary to replenish the grease. Any existing grease should be cleaned out and care should be taken to avoid dust when refilling the housing.

• DC motors use carbon brushes which may need adjusting or replacing with time. These brushes can be accessed by means of removing the cover plate at the end of the motor.

• Every six months, you have to check if the belt is in good condition, that it is not slipping and tight enough.

Setting the machine

• The coil former on which the coil is to be wound is placed on the shaft ‘G’ by means of two cones, one of which is fixed to the shaft by a grub screw. This is shown in the schematic diagram below.

• To remove the shaft, unscrew the release knob ‘H’ and push the clamping lever ‘I’ to the left.

Setting the wire

• From the copper coil the wire runs on two wheels that are situated on the wire-dereeler, then go to another two wheels that are situated on the traverse. From the traverse it finally goes to the coil former where it going to be coiled. This system is shown by a schematic diagram below.

• Before connecting the wire from the copper coil to the coil former, the width of the traverse should be adjusted.

• Slacken off the knobs ‘P’ on the trip rod. Then turn the knob ‘W’ in a clockwise direction, disengaging the carriage from the lead screw, allowing it to be moved to the right or left.

• Return the knob ‘W’ to its previous position. For fine adjustment of the wire feed carriage turn the hand knob ‘D’ on the left of the headstock and then adjust the carriage using knob ‘O’.

• To set the left hand trip adjuster, move it up to the wire feed carriage and tighten. Move the carriage to the right hand end of the coil and repeat the procedure. Now run the machine making any other fine adjustments as required.

• To change the winding direction from right to left, move the lever ‘N’ to the right

Variator Adjustment

• It is important to adjust this only when the machine is running.

• To adjust, turn the hand grip ‘F’ and read off the wire size against the corresponding gear speed on the indicator ‘L’ on the side of the machine.

Setting the Counter

• To set the number of turns press the reset button and hold it till all the numbers are set at zero.

• Die Geschwindigkeit wird über ein Fusspedal geregelt. Über einen Potentiometer wird die Geschwindigkeit von null bis maximum eingestellt.

• Auf dem Bedienfeld befindet sich ein weiterer Potentiometer, worüber man die gewünschte Endgeschwindigkeit einstellt.

• Der Bediener muss das Fusspedal gleichmäßig betätigen um grosse Schwankungen der Geschwindigkeit zu vermeiden. Für die maximale Geschwindigkeit muss das Fusspedal bis zum Anschlag durchgedrückt werden.

WartungWartung• Der Motor sollte mindestens einmal im

Jahr kontrolliert werden, ob sich nochgenügend Schmierfett im Motor befindet. Wenn ein Wechsel nötig wird, ist daraufzu achten, dass so wenig Schmutz wiemöglich ins Innere gelangt.

• Die Gleichstrommotoren benutzen Kohlebürsten, die nach einiger Zeit neu eingestellt oder ersetzt werden müssen. Diese Bürsten können heraus genommen werden, indem man die Deckenplatte am Ende des Motors öffnet.

• Alle sechs Monate muss der Riemenkontrolliert werden, ob er straff sitzt und nicht beschädigt ist.

muss der Drahtdurchmesser eingestellt werden.• Der Hebel ‘P‘ muss gelöst werden. Drehen Sie

dann den Knopf ‘W’ nach rechts, dieser entkuppeltden Verfahrschlitten von der führenden Schraube. Dadurch ist es möglich, den Schlitten nach rechts oder links zu bewegen.

• Drehen Sie den Knopf ’W’ in seine vorigeAusgangposition zurück. Zur Feineinstellung des Kabelführungsschlittens drehen Sie den Handknopf‘D’ links vom Spindelstock. Anschliessend stellenSie den Schlitten mit dem Knopf ‘O’ ein.

• Um den linken Handbedienungsjustierereinzustellen, bewegen Sie ihn nach oben zumKabelführungsschlitten und ziehen Sie ihn fest. Bewegen Sie den Schlitten zum rechten Ende derWindung und wiederholen Sie den Vorgang. Wenndie Maschine läuft, machen Sie die erfoderlichenFeineinstellungen.

• Um die Windungsrichtung von rechts nach links zuverstellen, bewegt man den Hebel ‘N’.
