COGNITIVE BENEFITS OF FOREIGN LANGUAGE STUDY:

As the globe has shrunk, international business opportunities have multiplied and

travel has grown apace. Mutual understanding and meaningful communication

between nations, which have always been difficult to achieve, have now gained

increased urgency, to make better international understanding.

1. Why should one learn a foreign language?

• Foreign language study not only gives a competitive edge but also gives new

opportunities such as making new acquaintances or building better Relationshipsin the corporate business world to understand more global business and economy.

• Learning a new language is an enriching experience, not only it helpsunderstanding another culture but also enables people to achieve a profoundunderstanding of their own.

• Research says, foreign language study enhances a student's achievements in

English.

• Learning a new language is a uniquely rewarding experience, the ease and pleasure of the experience may boost one’s confidence and increase desire for newdiscoveries.

2. Why study ‘French’?

• French as a foreign language is the second most spoken language in the worldafter English. French and English are the only two global languages.

• The International Organization of Francophonie (Organisation Internationale de

la Francophonie (OIF)  has 51 member states and governments. Of these, 28countries have French as an official language. French is the only language other 

than English spoken on five continents.

• French, along with English, is the official working language of 

the United Nations

• French is undoubtedly a language unsurpassed for clearness of expression and for its artistic value.

AFTER COMPLETION OF THIS FRENCH COURSE STUDENTS WOULDBE ABLE TO:

1. Read and pronounce French Alphabets.2. Identify French Accents and their usage.3. Get acquainted with French grammars.4. Pronunciation of vowels and consonants combinations.5. Speak few expressions of politeness in French.6. Written knowledge with perfect pronunciation of the days of the

week and the months in a year in French.7. Different colors and their usage in different sentences.8. Usage of different adjectives.9. Conjugation of French first, second and third group (irregular) of

Classroom Policies:1. It will be more of an interactive session instead of a class.

2. Weight age will be given more on written practice on the blackboard and

loud pronunciation of words.

3. Participation is compulsory for every student so as to develop a complete

command over the language.

4. Attention in the class is definitely going to help you all.

5. Every minute will be very precious, as you will be learning a complete new

language so be extra cautious to be present in the class ON TIME.
