Dear Parents and Carers,
Remembrance Day
This Friday we will hold our Remembrance Day ceremony to remember those who died as a re-sult of war, particularly from World War I on-wards. A minute of silence will be dedicated to the deceased, especially for soldiers who died fighting to protect the nation. We also pay our respects to current soldiers. Students have been making poppies and wreaths to present during the ceremony.
Building Works Update
Our major works are progressing steadily. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the excavation/construction area will need to be increased. This will impinge on a portion of the special education playground. The staff and students will still have access to the playground and equipment during this time.
Have a terrific week,
Kellie

P&C News
Our next P&C meeting will be held on Wednesday 14th November at 6pm in the staff room.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by our afternoon tea last Friday. It was great to meet new parents and some of the new kindergarten students starting next year.
Currently, we are a small group but we are always looking forward to welcoming new members who may be interested in being part of our P&C.
The P&C is a great way to meet other parents and be involved with activities and fundraising for the school. There is no pressure to commit or to attend all meetings and events.
If this is something that might interest you please come along to the next meeting and we can give you further information. Alternatively, you can contact us through our email or Facebook page.
For all inquiries please email us at [email protected]

Headlice
Please be advised that we have had reported cases of nits/head lice being present in the hair of some students within the school.
Please check your child’s hair for nits/lice tonight using the methods recommended in information from NSW Health (http://www.health.nsw.gov.au/headlice/treatment/index.html). If you find any eggs or lice please commence treatment as recommended.
Further information on head lice is available on the NSW Health website (details above) or through the Department’s website at: http://www.schools.nsw.edu.au/studentsupport/studenthealth/conditions/headlice/index.php.
We appreciate your assistance in this regard.

KW have been lucky enough to have some very special visitors to our class. We have
three different species of tadpoles in a tank in our classroom. We have been learning
about the changes that we might see as the tadpoles grow and develop. They have
already grown so much and we are on the lookout for some legs in the coming weeks.
We are excited to see our tadpoles change into froglets and then into frogs.
Here are some pictures of our tank and some writing we have completed about tadpoles.

In our literacy session, 3/6JF have been engaging in an author study. As a class, we been
reading a series of texts about a dog called ‘Pig’ and his friend ‘Trevor’ by Nick Bland. Here are
some student’s examples of some of the fabulous work we have created this term during this
session.
