Executive Summary
Coffee High School is a Title I school located in a rural area between Broxton and Douglas, Georgia. It is the only high
school in the county which serves four major communities of Broxton, Nicholls, West Green, and Ambrose, as well as several
smaller communities. Coffee High has approximately 1469 students in grades10-12 with a 65.6% economically disadvantaged
subgroup.
Coffee High School has steadily made academic achievement gains and has greatly narrowed the achievement gap. Despite
the gains achieved, the school was unable to make Adequate Yearly Progress as determined by the previous NCLB mandate. The
school was always close but the achievement data never reflected the actual strides that were made. With the implementation of the
new College Career Readiness Performance Index (CCRPI) and a new school administrative team the school culture and focus is
now moving in the right direction to maximize student academic achievement to prepare students not to just earn a diploma but to be
college and career ready when they graduate from Coffee High School.
Administration and Leadership
The administration of Coffee High School is committed to student success. The Leadership Team is made up of school administrators,
instructional leaders from each department, counselors, and instructional coaches. The Leadership Team is actively involved in the school
improvement process and uses the Plan-Do-Check-Act structure to monitor school improvement initiatives. The Team is fully operational
according to the High Impact Performance Rubric for school improvement. Building leadership capacity within each department to support the
