Cody CMA Community Impact Information Sheet The Community Impact Purpose: As members of the Community Impact (CI), our purpose is to Show the Love of Christ. We desire to place all focus on Jesus Christ through offering a variety of opportunities to sacrificially serve others. CI seeks to accomplish this by connecting caring volunteers with service opportunities, both within our church family as well as in the Cody, Powell, and Meeteetse communities. As we seek to supply the physical needs of individuals, we are ultimately striving to help others experience the tremendous and unfailing love Christ offers to everyone. We can do this by following the words of 1 Peter 3:15, to share the reason for the hope we have in Christ. Tangible Needs / Donations

Monthly monetary donations needed. Any infant items (0-6 months), such as: diapers, wipes, and receiving blankets Community groups, such as ladies small groups at local churches, to hold baby showers and then donate the items given to the "Earn While You Learn Program"; which is a 3 phase opportunity for parents to complete 8 educational courses and then be rewarded with variety of necessary infant care items, including car seats and pack 'n plays. This program has done well to build trusting relationships between the organization and the parents and has a 75% attendance rate for fathers.

Areas of Prayer Requested

Prayer needed as they are beginning to out grow their current location. They also requested prayer as they are working to grow their presence in Powell. Praise that they have been able to make some connections at NWC. Praise for continued increase of services provided to individuals struggling with crisis pregnancies.

Ministry Jubilee Inner-Town Ministries

Description

Jubilee Inner-Town Ministries is an interdenominational Christian ministry made up of a partnership of eight local Bible-believing churches in our community. We are actively reaching into lower income neighborhoods in Cody, Wyoming. We are renting a mobile home in a local trailer park and have converted it into a ministry center. There, our volunteers show Christ’s love to families through organized activities and by just being available to serve and spend time with people.

Number of CMA Volunteers

11 volunteers, serving as: prayers team members, in children's ministry, leading various workshops, making tangible donations such as quilts.

Areas of Service Needed

We need: People who like to work with kids People with a heart for teens People who can help with maintenance on the trailer and the lot Families who want to build relationships with other families People who like to provide meals People who would like to run workshops on specific skills or hobbies Child care helpers for individual families People willing to just spend time at the trailer park

Tangible Needs / Donations

Monthly monetary donations are needed. Food for gatherings and craft project items.

Areas of Prayer Requested

Increase in monthly financial support. Cody Mission Project - success in implementation. Additional individuals will have a heart to volunteer with the ministry. That the love of Christ will be conveyed through the work of the ministry.

Ministry Heart Mountain Volunteer Medical Clinic

Description

Neighbors Caring For Neighbors Heart Mountain Volunteer Medical Clinic (HMVMC) is a volunteer staffed medical clinic providing free outpatient non-emergency acute and chronic primary care to eligible patients. The clinic provides basic medical care focused on wellness and disease prevention encouraging active patient participation for maximum success. Clinic Hours: Thursdays from 5:30pm - 9:00pm.

Number of CMA Volunteers

3 to 5 as doctors, nurses, and office personal.

Areas of Service Needed

Volunteers as registered nurses, doctors, receptionists, greeters, and in eligibility services.

Tangible Needs / Donations

Monthly Monetary Donations Needed. Support the meal program for the volunteers at the clinic. Area churches are on a rotation to provide a meal for the volunteers on Thursday evenings.

Areas of Prayer Requested

Praise, some patients have been willing to attend church. Prayer requested that they would present a godly atmosphere and share Christ with every patient. Concerns regarding pending changes due to Obama Care. Struggle to obtain sustained monthly giving.

Ministry Crisis Intervention Services

Description

Crisis Intervention Services (CIS) helps victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and their children cope with the initial crisis and aftermath of these violent crimes. Mission: To provide services and an environment free of physical violence, sexual assault, verbal abuse, emotional abuse, psychological abuse and restriction of personal liberty. CIS respects the worth, dignity and uniqueness of the individual and supports these values through education, personal growth, self-reliance and self-determination.

Number of CMA Volunteers

Organization does not ask volunteers church affiliation, due to privacy requirements.

Areas of Service Needed

Individuals to be trained as Peer Advocates to assist those in need. These volunteers serve through answering calls on the crisis line and/or going to the hospital or scene as requested by law enforcement. There are many additional ways of volunteering, such as taking a shift at their booth during the Craft Fair at the Cody Auditorium each year. Please call Cherie, Volunteer Coordinator, to find out how you can support this organization.

Tangible Needs / Donations

Monthly Donations Needed. Clothing for sexual assault ER victims (sweat suits, undergarments, and flip flops or canvas shoes) Cody and Powell Shelters need: Non-perishable food items, Cleaning Supplies, Hygiene Items, and Diapers.

CIS is working to obtain grant funding to purchase a larger, ADA compliant, building in Cody.

Our Mission - Introducing adolescents to Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their faith. We accomplish our mission by: Praying for young people. Going where kids are. Building personal relationships with them. Winning the right to be heard. Providing experiences that are fun, adventurous and life-changing. Sharing our lives and the Good News of Jesus Christ with adolescents. Inviting them to personally respond to this Good News. Loving them regardless of their response. Nurturing kids so they might grow in their love for Christ and the knowledge of God's Word and become people who can share their faith with others. Monthly donations needed, as well as contributions to support teens who would like to attend Young Life's powerful summer camps.

Praise: Currently training 2 new leaders. Requests: more leaders needed and they are looking for a new location for meetings; not located in a church as their goal is to reach unchurched kids.

Description

The food bank is a supplemental resource for people who are having financial problems or the burden of unexpected expenses and need assistance. The mission of the Cody Cupboard is to reduce hunger in the Cody area by providing temporary food assistance to those in need and by engaging in outreach and advocacy. The food bank is open Monday through Friday except holidays and during special events.

Areas of Service Needed

The Cody Cupboard is run entirely by volunteers, and most of our food is donated directly or purchased with privately donated money. We rely on the people of our community. You are an important part.

Description Annually provides approximately 200 backpacks of class specific school supplies for children in need.

Shopping for items necessary to fill class specific backpacks with school supplies. Pack backpacks with necessary school supplies. Deliver backpacks to schools and individuals in need.

H.O.P.E. House Program - H.O.P.E. is an acronym for Helping Ourselves Perform Effectively. The mission of the HOPE House is to provide a supportive environment in which adults who suffer from serious and persistent mental illness can rediscover their self-respect, dignity, and abilities through the opportunity to perform productive work, obtain a sense of belonging, and create meaningful relationships.

That all individuals struggling with severe and persistent mental illness in our community will access the support of HOPE House as needed. That the members will feel a sense of acceptance and belonging at HOPE House. That the program will be able to find outside funding through various grants and donations in light of recent budget cuts.

The goal of this ministry is to show the love of Christ by assisting those in need of transportation support. We desire to offer all services cost free to members of CMA as well as anyone in our community. Whether it’s a trip to Wal-Mart or a doctor’s appointment in Billings, we would be honored to serve anyone needing transportation assistance.
