Codes And conventions Of Music Magazines

According my research these are the different codes and conventions I have found in various music magazines:

1. The cover of the magazine usually has a famous artist on the cover and represents the celebrity’s music and personalitye.g. If the singer is Nikki Minaj the cover would be filled with bright neon colors and her outfit flamboyant

2. The body language of the celebrity would sensuous or flirty if it’s a girl with male models the expression and body language is serious or business-like

3. In most covers you can see the that the Celebrities are holding props to make the picture look fun e.g. in these cover the one of the model has a crown and fake blood while the other one is holding a vintage camera

4. The main cover Image is usually taken in high-key and the shot is varied from mid-shot to close up to full-shot but it is usually mid-shot.

5. The Masthead is big and bold and it changes color in different covers and that color is usually made the theme color if the cover.Sometimes the Masthead of the magazine is covered by the celebrities head.

6. The name of the Celebrity on the cover is very important and it is the second biggest thing on the cover and it is on the top left Corner of the page as that will attract the readers.

7. The Cover also includes a lot of cover lines which have colorful and funky fonts and are usually in a U shape.The Background is usually white and if not white then of a very light color so the focus stays on the Celebrity on the cover.
