Every individual has a place to fill in the world and is important in some respect whether he chooses to be so or not. ~Nathaniel Hawthorne
Quote of the Day
" The heights of your achievements are determined by the depth of your self-belief, the strength of your resolve and the intensity of your efforts."
Thought for the Day
Some fishing terms Ten common fishing terms explained
Catch and Release - A conservation motion that happens most often right before the local Fish and Game officer pulls over a boat that has caught over it's limit.
Hook - (1) A curved piece of metal used to catch fish. (2) A clever advertisement to entice a fisherman to spend his live savings on a new rod and reel. (3) The punch administered by said fisherman's wife after he spends their life savings (see also, Right Hook, Left Hook).
Line - Something you give your co-workers when they ask on Monday how your fishing went the past weekend.
Lure - An object that is semi-enticing to fish, but will drive an angler into such a frenzy that he will charge his credit card to the limit before exiting the tackle shop.
Reel - A weighted object that causes a rod to sink quickly when dropped overboard.
Rod - An attractively painted length of fiberglass that keeps an angler from ever getting too close to a fish.
School - A grouping in which fish are taught to avoid your $29.99 lures and hold out for spam instead.
Tackle - What your last catch did to you as you reeled him in, but just before he wrestled free and jumped back overboard.
Tackle Box - A box shaped alarmingly like your comprehensive first aid kit. Only a tackle box contains many sharp objects, so that when you reach in the wrong box blindly to get a Band Aid, you soon find that you need more than one.
Test - (1) The amount of strength a fishing line affords an angler when fighting fish in a specific weight range. (2) A measure of your creativity in blaming "that darn line" for once again losing the fish.

Three guys and some hats...
Three intelligent, logical guys are sitting in a row in a room, all facing the same direction. A guy comes in with 3 red hats and 2 green hats. The three guys sitting in a row see these, but then close their eyes while the guy with the hats put on hat on each of their hats. After hiding the remaining two hats, the hat guy tells the three to open their eyes. They cannot see their own hats, only the hats of those in front of them. The hat guy asks the man in back what colour his hat is. He says he has no idea. Then the hat guy asks the second one what colour hat he has on. He also says he does not know. Then the hat guy asks the guy in front what colour hat he has, and this guy says he knows for certain.
What colour hat does the man in front have and how do you know?

Cocos Islands Airport enjoys the rare luxury of not being fully
fenced however, residents and visitors are reminded that the Cocos Islands Airport property is a security controlled area governed by the Aviation Transport Security Act 2004 and Aviation Transport Security Regulations 2005. This means that anyone who enters any part of the airport without authorisation may be subject to prosecution with fines in excess of $5000.
Unless you have a legitimate reason as well as approval from the Airport Manager, you are not permitted to be on any part of the airport where aircraft operate; this includes the runway, the grass surrounding the runway, the taxiways and the aircraft parking areas.
The boundary of the secure part of the airport is marked by white gable markers (long triangular fibreglass markers) that display warning signs. These markers act as an invisible fence-line. So that we continue to meet the requirements of the legislation, you must remain outside these markers at all times or risk prosecution.
Most of you will know that part of the golf course crosses these security controlled areas. Special approvals with strict conditions have been put in place to allow golfers to experience the uniqueness of playing across the runway. To comply with these strict access rules, golfers MUST contact the Airport Manager on either 9162 6563 or 0406 329 050 (if you don’t have a telephone then pop into the airport office) to get approval to cross the secure areas. You run the risk of prosecution and fines if you fail to obtain approval to play.
If these restrictions are not adhered to then we will end up being forced to fence the entire airport boundary which will cut off access to the lagoon on the eastern side as well as losing golfing access across the runway.
Your cooperation in following these rules is essential in maintaining safety and security at the airport and will ensure that we can continue to have the idyllic views, lagoon side access and golfing access that we currently enjoy.
Basil Nelson Airport Manager
kapalterbang.
Boundary yang menandakan kawasan security ditandakan dengan ‘gable markers’ putih s e p e r t i d i g a m b a r y a n g menunjukkan sain warning.

General Tips
Change to Fluorescent Bulbs - If every house in the United States changed all of the light bulbs in their house, that would be equivalent to taking one million cars off the streets.
Don't Rinse - Skip rinsing your plates before putting them into the dishwasher.
Hang Outside to Dry - Get a cloths line or rack to dry your cloths.
Turn off computers at night - don't just put them to sleep.
Use Both Sides of Paper - double sided print will save half of the amount of paper you would have normally used.
Get rid of baths - You will in average save about half the amount of water that you would if you were taking a bath.
Don't get bottled water - get a reusable container to carry water. It is definitely more cost efficient.
Turn the water off when you brush - You will save water doing this alone.
Shorten your shower - The less time your shower takes, the lower your impact on the environment.
Recycle Glass - If you do not recycle this, it will take a million years to decompose.
Don't Pre-Heat the Oven - unless needed, just turn the oven on after you put the dish in it.
Use Warm or Cold Setting on Washer - instead of the hot cycle use the warm or cold setting. This will save a lot of energy a year.
Turn off your lights - The benefits are obvious.
Stop paper bank statements - just check it out online.
Buy Rechargeable Batteries - Even though it will take a good investment to buy these you will find yourself gaining it back in no time.
Pay your Bills Online - If every house in the US did this then we would save 18 million trees every year.
Get a reusable bag - get yourself a reusable bag so that you won't have to worry about carrying your necessities.
Plant a Tree - It's good for the air, can keep you cool, and can increase your property value.
Walk or Ride Your Bike When you can - If you have to go somewhere close consider riding your bike or walking there instead of your car. It's better on the environment and healthier.

Sports & Rec Review (cont’d) Berita Olahraga & Rekreasi (seterusnya)
Well Tennis folk, the year has all but concluded and we have only one more game to play…
But first a re-cap of the Round 8 games.
The star performers we’re the Goats, winning 21 games and ensuring the Roosters finish the season with a spoon made of wood. Unfortunately 21 games was one game short of finishing in the final and they can join all the teams they beat in watching the final next Tuesday at 5.30pm.
After a hotly contested season, with only eight points separating the top five, the Hermit Crabs missed the top spot by only one game. That title going to the Golden Orbs after they placed a double agent in the Booby Birds to keep the Crabs score down.
Kady proved that with youthful exuberance comes great responsibility, playing three straight games and yet barely breaking a sweat. Though it might say more about the old codgers inability to make her run than her supreme fitness.
All going well a BBQ will be put on and the obligatory prizes of deceased animal will be issued with glory to the winners. (The only thing that can stop it is an overweight freight plane).
A big thankyou to Neville from Williams Meat in Forrestfield for donating the meat, who has also agreed to sponsor us next season.
For those inclined, some locally sourced Halal sausages will be on offer alongside Neville’s award winning snags.
Your Dragooned President,
Jimmy.

Sudoku Solutions Crossword Solutions
How do I do it?
The object is to insert the numbers in the boxes to satisfy only one condition: each row, column and group of squares enclosed by the bold lines must contain the digits 1 through 9 exactly once.
The rules for different size and shape puzzles are pretty much identical. The different size puzzles simply require a different set of numbers.
Brainteaser Answer
Red. The guy in back couldn't have possibly seen 2 green hats in front of him, or else he would have known his was red. So there are now two possibilities for the front 2 guys: #1) 2 red hats or #2)1 red hat and 1 green hat. The man in the middle realizes this. If he had seen a green hat in front of him, he would have known that possibility #2 was true: there was a green hat and a red hat. But, since he said he did not know, it therefore must be the only other possibility, which is possibility #1, which is two red hats in front. So, being intelligent and logical, the guy in the front realizes it is indeed possibility 1, he knows there is two red hats, and he is one of them.
