November 2015 6th Depart U.S.A. for flight to Ireland. 7th At Dublin airport you will meet your host Tom Comerford and driver-guide Michael Nolan, before departing South to the historic town of Wexford. is aſternoon, we will enjoy a visit to Johnstown Castle Gardens and Museum, and a short drive along the coastline. We are staying at the Talbot Hotel for two nights. Welcome dinner is included this evening. 8th ree excellent visits on the menu today. Our first stop is at Tintern Abbey, then we will follow in the footsteps of the Kennedy family by calling to the original homestead of the ancestors of JFK and the Dunbrody Famine Ship in New Ross. Upon return to Wexford town, Tom and Michael will recommend some nice local pubs and restaurants for dinner. 9th West to Waterford city (the oldest in Ireland). No tour would be complete without a tour of Waterford Crystal. Later Tom will give a talk and tour of the famed “Wake House” pub Jack Meades. e aſternoon drive will be along the Atlantic Coast, through the UNESCO designated Global Geopark known as the Copper Coast. We will be accommodated for the next two nights at the Park Hotel where dinner is included this evening. 10th Today’s tour takes us to the heritage town of Lismore, home of the famed Lismore Castle. Also on the agenda, a visit to the Cistercian Abbey of Mount Melleray, founded in 1833, and still very much part of the fabric of the local community. We will also stop at a nearby country pub, which is in the fiſth generation of family ownership. Free time in Dungarvan in the aſternoon will allow time for you to view Dungarvan Castle, the World War 1 Memorial Wall, and explore possibilities for dinner tonight. 11th Our day commences with a breath-taking drive through the Nire Valley, and Cahir (pronounced CARE) is our first destination. Cahir Castle was the stronghold of the Butler family (it was also used in the movie, Excalibur) Onwards to Limerick, for a city tour on our bus, before crossing the River Shannon and "into the West". A visit to Bunratty Folk Park for an insight into life in bygone Ireland, against the setting of the beautiful Bunratty Castle. For those with "retail" on their mind, that's here too, in abundance. Our drive to Dromoland Castle, where we will be billeted for two nights, is short and scenic. Dinner in your castle tonight, ladies and gentlemen. 12th A full, free day to enjoy Dromoland Castle. Some of the activities are weather dependent, but there are many, and they are varied. Horse riding, clay pigeon shooting, archery, falconry. Perhaps you'd like to try out the Spa? Or play a round of golf? Or just spend the day wandering through the extensive grounds, or lounging in the castle itself? Tom and Michael will offer recommendations for dinner tonight. 13th Early morning departure to the Atlantic Coast and the spectacular “Cliffs of Moher” with some free time before heading east to Dublin with an aſternoon arrival at your hotel. is evening you will attend a fantastic Irish cabaret and dinner show at the famed Taylors ree Rock thatched roof pub. 14th We are ever-mindful of the fact that people like to enjoy free time when visiting a city with such a cosmopolitan, historical, cultural reputation, as Dublin. So, we will do a city tour on the bus in the morning, allowing aſternoon availability to do as you please. Once again, Michael and Tom will be on hand to recommend many of the highlights our capital city has to offer for your final evening in Dublin. 15th All too soon, our Coasts and Castles adventure is complete. Transfers to Dublin airport for return journey home, with your thoughts firmly set upon returning.
