What to expect from your coach1) Coach’s philosophy.

2) Expectations the coach has for your son or daughter, as well as other players on the team.

3) Locations and times of practices and contests.

4) Team requirements, i.e., fees, special equipment needed, school & team rules, off-season expectations.

5) Procedures that will be followed if your child becomes injured during participation.

PARENT EXPECTATIONS

Appropriate concerns to discuss with a coach:

1) The mental and physical treatment of your child.2) What your child needs to do to improve.3) Concerns about your child’s behavior.

PLAYING TIME: It is very difficult to accept your child is not playing as much as you may hope.

Coaches make decisions based on what they believe is in the best interests of all students participating.

Issues NOT appropriate for discussion with your child’s coach:1) How much playing time each athlete is getting.2) Team strategy.3) Play calling.4) Any situation that deals with other student-athletes.

Be at practice everyday◦ Cannot learn if you are not at practice◦ Need a note should you not be at practice

STAY FOCUSED ◦ Each day that you are at school, in the classroom,  hallways, practice fields, locker room, etc., you must stay

focused on what the expectations are for you as a student-athlete.  Simply act accordingly and with maturity so that you stay out of trouble.  Know and understand this... if you do something that is against the student code of conduct, there will be a consequence.

To be in athletics is to be in football!

acclimatization period, no contact activities shall be permitted. All student athletes who arrive after the first day of practice are required to undergo a four-day acclimatization period. No interschool scrimmages or games shall be allowed until after a period of at least seven days of contact football.
