A warm welcome to The Coach House Hotel Chester. Records show that people have been en-joying Chester hospitality here since 1744 when it was a busy coaching inn (the horses were

once rested and fed in what is now our kitchen). In 1792 records show around 140 inns in our small market town and by 1858 the numbers had so increased that it is said that Victorian Chester boasted “a pub for every day of the year”.

We’re fortunate and proud to be one of the few original public houses continuing to trade in the heart of the city centre, offering visitors and locals alike good old fashioned hospitality,

home-cooked regional food, fine ales and wines from around the world.

Whatever the purpose of your visit, we hope you enjoy your time with us.
