Dear All:

On 11th November, a record number of over 2,500 old boys, faculty members, students and parents

participated in the 2017 Walkathon. And on that very date, we officially kicked off our alma mater’s

Bicentennial Celebration!

In addition to being the first school in Hong Kong to have its Bicentennial Celebration, Ying Wa

College has also contributed to many significant events throughout its long history. For example, the

first Chinese bible was translated and printed in Ying Wa College in 1818; its graduates counted the

first Chinese pastor (1821) Leung Faat (梁發); it is one of the first secondary schools in Hong Kong to

incorporate Social Studies in its curriculum; it is the only secondary school in Hong Kong to have won

the Inter-school Handball Competition ten years in a row! You can gain much more understanding of

Bicentennial Gala Dinner

The Bicentennial Gala Dinner will take place on 2nd December 2018 (Sunday) at the Hong Kong

Convention & Exhibition Centre. We expect a huge turnout from old boys, faculty members,

students and parents. Therefore, we are accepting advanced booking from old boys pursuant to this

notice.

Pricing Details

Applicable to (i) “junior old boys” – YWPS or YWC graduates leaving school on or after 1 January 2013; or (ii) current students of YWC and YWPS. Names of attendees must be provided on request. Reservation Details Please note the following points regarding the booking for the Gala Dinner:

First Phase (from 1st January 2018 to 28th February 2018)

1. Bookings by old boys only. Booking must be by table(s) only (12 persons per table) and tables will be guaranteed.

2. As such, please contact your Class Reps to include your booking, or group your classmates

together to make your booking. Appendix C contains the information of your Class Reps. If you cannot find your Class Reps, please contact OBA’s Gala Dinner Committee by Whatsapp (see also Appendix C), or email them at Galadinner@ywcoba.com (particularly for overseas old boys).

3. Preferably by Class Reps, a completed Reservation Form (Appendix A) with proof of payment

(cheque, deposit or transfer slip) need to be either mailed or faxed to YWC School Office (校務處). Second Phase (from 1st March 2018 onwards) 4. Bookings by seat(s), Standard and Discounted price included, will be accepted. Seating

arrangement will be made by OBA. 5. A completed Reservation Form (Appendix A) with proof of payment (cheque, deposit or transfer

slip) need to be either mailed or faxed to YWC School Office (校務處).

6. The School Office commits to confirm the reservation in both First and Second Phases by

contacting the sender of the Reservation Form within 7 days upon receipt of the form.

Donation Pledge Ying Wa old boys have a strong tradition of being grateful to their teachers and supporting the younger brothers. All current teaching and office staff in Ying Wa College and Ying Wa Primary School are invited to attend the dinner to celebrate together. The actual cost per person of the Gala Dinner is forecast to be above $2,000 per head. In order for many of our former teachers (most in retirement already) and junior old boys to attend, we urge you to make a donation towards this cause by filling out the Donation Form attached (Appendix B).
