Q.10. The points A (2, –2) B (8, 4) and C (5, 7) are three vertices of a rectangle

ABCD. Plot these points on a graph paper and hence find the co-ordinates of

its fourth vertex D.

Ans. We plot the points A (2, 2),− B (8, 4) and C (5, 7) on the graph. Join AB, BC

and through C draw a line parallel to AB and through A, draw a line parallel to

BC which intersect each other at D.

∴ D is the fourth vertex of the rectangle ABCD.

AD.

∴ Through D and B, draw perpendiculars meeting each other at C.
