Open Day Wednesday 22nd May

The Major Prize draw - to enter the major prize draw you need to purchase $100 or more of merchandise from any participating supplier between 15th April and Close of business Tuesday 21st May. The more you purchase the more your chances of winning. For example, if you purchase $900 of merchandise from a participating supplier you will earn 9 tickets in the draw and so on

• Around 25 major suppliers have participated in the draw including OneSteel, Zoetis, Cyclone Kincrome Tama (Tapex), Integrated Packaging, SPS Seeds, Heritage Seeds, Wrightsons, Virbac, Olsson’s, Vitamilk, Veanavite, Shoof, Coopers, Dasco Daviesway, Zadco, Philmac Datamars (TruTest) Gallagher, Boehringer Ingelheim, Purina, Whites, Ridley.

• At the close of trade Tuesday night before the Open Day a sales report on participating supplier sales during the competition period will be run and tickets for every $100 purchased per member will be allocated for the draw.

• The winning ticket will be drawn during the official opening of the Open Day. The winner must then choose one of the major prizes on offer.

• The prize not selected will then become the major prize on offer to people attending the Open Day who purchase $100 or more of merchandise. For each $100 multiple tickets will be issued and go into the draw for the second prize. Staff and Directors and their immediate families are ineligible for either prize draw.

News from the Board

As I recently advised members; our General Manager Peter Moore has decided to retire, and we are in the process of recruiting a new General Manger to continue the excellent work and progress Peter has made with the business. Peter over seven years has developed our Co-Op into a respected and thriving business which has grown at a greater rate than 10% year on year over the last five years. This has been achieved by a team effort of all the staff ably lead by Peter. Your Co-Op is in a sound financial and operational state to continue to prosper under new leadership. Your Board and Peter have been planning for Peter's retirement for the last two years and now feel the organisation has the culture and strength to be able to be led by a new GM, to progress and grow. We will all miss Peter and sincerely thank him for championing Co-Op values of “we are here for our members and we succeed as a team” as well as giving us a much stronger organisation than when he started seven years ago. On a sad note; two of the founding members of our Co-op Rex Frankcombe and Ray Cox passed away recently. It’s through the hard work and vision of people like Rex and Ray over 4 decades ago we must thank for the success of our Co-op today.

What’s new at this year’s Open Day

Zadco is an Australian agricultural company which has primarily specialised in plant nutrition. As always we’ll also have staff from Rural Alive and Well (RAW) and Rural Financial Counselling present during the day

upstairs in our training rooms on a variety of topics and presenters including Dr Lisa Walter veterinarian Boehringer Ingelheim plus other presenters to be announced on topical issues in plant and animal health and nutrition.
