HELISERVICES NZ OPERATES A LARGE FLEET OF HELICOPTERS BASED IN SEVEN LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT THE SOUTH ISLAND, COVERING MANY AREAS EFFECTIVELY AND COST EFFICIENTLY.

We pride ourselves upon delivering a high quality service that is safe, cost efficient and tailored to the client's needs with a vast range of aircraft, staff and equipment to best meet the requirements.

Safety is our main priority, and a strong safety culture is at the forefront of any service that we provide. We are proud to be able to find solutions to satisfy the client’s needs and carry out the job in a safe and professional manner.

We pride ourselves on delivering a cost efficient resolution to many commercial operations throughout the South Island.

We are a CAA approved part 135 operator, and also DOC accredited operator.

PILOT EXPERIENCEWe have vastly experienced pilots ranging up to approx. 20,000 hours total flying time. Our pilots are very experienced in both local operations and overseas including Antarctica, USA, Canada, New Caledonia and Papua New Guinea.

Our pilots have extensive long line experience and a very broad range of commercial skills with extensive knowledge of the areas we cover.

OPERATIONS TO SUIT YOUR NEEDS

Heliservices NZ provides a huge range of professional commercial services.

We have worked with Amethyst Power Scheme project for over three years, as well as provided services to New Zealand Police repeater support, Diana Falls stabilisation project, local ski fields for maintenance and development, Kaikoura sluicing operation, GNS seismic datalogger programme, marine transfer, kiwi relocation programme, insurance recovery work and track gravel laying operations to name just a few. We also complete a huge number of various tasks for local government and government companies supporting remote field operations.

EMERGENCY SERVICES• Firefighting: we are equipped with monsoon buckets and are involved with firefighting, fire crew training

and fire lighting for controlled burn offs

• Search and rescue: we are a member of the local search and rescue group and are involved in all local searches and operations.

OTHER SERVICESIn addition to our core business Heliservices NZ also provide frost protection, surveying flights and photography.

COMMERCIAL

• Ensure that the exposition demonstrates the means and methods of ongoing compliance with the CAA Rules.

• All requirements of CAA Rules and the Company Quality Manual Suite are complied with, and

• Training of all employees is provided so as to maintain compliance with the relevant safety standards and conditions, and

• Sufficient resources are available to ensure compliance with the relevant safety standards, including sufficient personnel, and

• Where reliance is placed on any one individual for certification or authorisation of work, provision is made for adequate back up in the event of that person being unavailable, and

• The oversight of operations, authority for safety, quality and financial delegations within the Company are properly discharged, and all expenditure is authorised, and

• Liaison with the CAA personnel regarding the Company Air Transport operations, and

• Company aircraft meet regulatory airworthiness standards.

• The approval of personnel appointments, and

• The establishment of a Personal Records File for each employee which shall include an Employment Contract which details the employees Duties, Responsibilities and Authorities, and

• Ensuring Company pilots have written authorisation in accordance with Part 43 Appendix A before carrying out Pilot Maintenance and role changes to Company aircraft, and

• The Health and Safety Regulations and their relevance to all staff members.

• The Company Quality Assurance System and as such will attend all Management Review Meetings, and

• CEO is responsible to ensure that sufficient resourcing and financing of the company operations are made available.

AS350The single engine AS350, aka ‘the squirrel’, is renowned for its high performance and safety. Its roomy and comfortable cabin can accommodate up to six passengers and the open cockpit aircraft allows all passengers to experience unencumbered, panoramic views from every seat.

This aircraft is specially known for its passenger transport activity and is an extremely versatile helicopter, lending itself effortlessly to luxury tourism and commercial work alike.

With its large flat floor, it is ideal for carrying cargo, and all of our squirrels have an external pod ideal for longer items, leaving more space in the cabin.

It has an external lifting capacity of up to 1000kg, and is a great all round helicopter that is effective and capable of many different missions.

MD 520NThe MD 520N is one of just three helicopters – all manufactured by MD Helicopters, Inc. – to feature the exclusive NOTAR® system for anti-torque and

directional control. By replacing conventional tail rotors with the NOTAR® system the margin of safety immediately increases for crew and aircraft. The noise also decreases, making it an exceptional choice for operation in confined and densely populated areas.

MD 500D A single engine, light utility machine with the safety of a turbine engine. The Hughes 500D is highly maneuverable allowing it to be ideal for landing in tight locations, Ideal for survey work and light lifting work. All of our Hughes 500D models are fitted with four bladed tail rotors, making them quieter to operate in sensitive areas.

R44Manufactured by Robinson, the R44 carries four people including the pilot . It has extremely good visibility for all passengers and cruises at a speed of over 200km/h. This helicopter is ideal for smaller groups for hunting, fishing and scenic flights.

Our Safety Management System (SMS) provides a structured and articulated approach to managing safety risks, both strategic and operational, and to identify potential hazards at the initial stages across company operations.

The intent of the SMS is to:

• Manage safety risk within the organisation

• Provide for ongoing monitoring and assessment of safety performance

• Make continuous improvements to the level of safety in operations

• Develop and improve the safety culture within the organisation.

Our SMS is an integral part of company operations and describes the culture at Heliservices NZ and the way people do their jobs, to enable a positive safety culture.
