ZAYER has been manufacturingmilling machines and millingcentres in Vitoria-Gasteiz (a strategicindustrial enclave in the BasqueCountry) since 1947, with a level ofquality that only a company withover 50 years' experience of placingthe best of its entrepreneurial spiritand ability to innovate at the disposalof its customers can offer.
Spanning more than half a century,the company's development beganin a small workshop occupying aspace of 200 m2, where 2 years ofintensive work gave rise to the firstmilling machine models with asaddle. Progressive business growthresulted in us moving to Betoño in1957, where our first high-capacityfacilities were built.
A splendid staff comprising 225people currently works at ZAYER'shead office, which is spread over20,000 m2.
The entrepreneurial attitude thatZAYER adopted from the outset ledus to export our first milling machineto Brazil in 1954. Since then, ourvolume of exports has expanded toencompass over 70% of our totalproduction.
Germany, Italy, France, Brazil,China, India, Holland, Belgium, theUSA, Austria and Turkey areamong the markets on which ourmachining solutions have beentried and tested, and where theirquality has met with approval.
Our global presence is based on anextensive sales network, withcompany branches in France, Italy,Mexico, Brazil and China. In addition,distributors and agents with highlyskilled customer service teams arepermanently on hand to cater for ourcustomers in more than 40 countries.
Our staff constitute anunbeatable guarantee of theoverall quality of each of ourproducts.

Range and models
All the structural components ofZAYER’s machines are designedusing state-of-the-arttechnologies, such as 3D designand finite element analysis.
Additionally, the aforementionedstructural components aremanufactured in pearlitic cast iron,giving them greater structural andthermal stability.
In conjunction with our guide system,the above constitutes a guaranteeas regards the ultimate finish of eachpart worked upon, thanks to optimalperformance in terms of vibrationsduring machining.

Made from hardened steel, theguideways of our machines areprismatic and straightened, with ahardness of HRC 58-62 and a boxsection with a thickness of 60 mm.
In contrast to the guideway systemsused by most of our competitors,the preload in ZAYER machines isprecisely adapted to the requiredvalues thanks to tempered steel rollerpacks, with independent,adjustable preloading.
The most important aspect is that theaforementioned values can bemaintained and adjusted over time,meaning that the machine will notlose its original specificationswhere performance and precisionare concerned, even after manyyears of service.

ZAYER was the first Spanishmanufacturer of machine tools tointroduce a 45º head to the market.The company has more than 30years’ experience of developing andmanufacturing the product inquestion.
With 360,000 positions and thecapacity to rotate at up to 6,000min-1, ZAYER’s automatic 45º headcan be positioned in increments of0.001º, on the head and the elbowalike (continuous work is possiblein the latter case). Patented in1994, the automatic 45º head isfurther proof of our capabilities interms of innovation anddevelopment.

Our machines are developed to befitted with a wide range ofaccessories, as well as withdifferent kinds of heads, and evenwith a quill with automaticmovement, in certain cases.
We thus offer our customers theoption of optimising the functionsand features of their machines,based on their requirements and thenature of the work to be undertaken.
The use of a Rack and doublemotor and pinion to drive the X andY axes (longitudinal and cross,respectively) is one of the main traitscommon to most of the machinesthat ZAYER manufactures.
Electronically preloaded, the systemin question provides improveddynamics and eliminates play.The use of this system enhancesthe acceleration of our machines.
