4.3. For HOT Inspection System in Service at Operating Temperature (Section 8), verify the

requirements of Section 6., "Initial Inspection At Construction Completion," and Section 7,

"Final Inspection (COLD) - Prior to Initial System Operation," have been met and all documented

unresolved, incomplete, and discrepant issues have been adequately addressed.

4.4. For HOT Inspection System in Service at Operating Temperature (Section 8) verify system

normal operating parameters have been established for a minimum of two (2) hours prior to the

    start of inspections.

4.5. Review hanger, support, and slide plate equipment/component drawings, detail drawings,

principal drawings, project specifications, and contract requirements as applicable, prior to

conducting walk downs and inspections to identify applicable hanger, support, and slide plate

location, design, clearance, and installation requirements.

4.6. Verify system hydrostatic testing, as applicable, has been performed and hydrostatic test

results are included in the Construction Turnover Package.

4.7. Ensure adequate scaffolding, staging, ladders, and safety harnesses are available for use duringthe required inspections of this procedure.

4.8. Review the Construction Turnover Documentation Package to ensure construction testing is

complete and appropriate test data has been reviewed for accuracy and completeness.

    5. GENERAL INSPECTION METHOD

5.1. Perform a general visual status inspection to verify the state of the system to be inspected or

walked-down, (empty, filled and vented, system in service with flow, etc.), and that it is safe and

    meaningful to conduct the inspection.

5.2. Verify areas requiring access for inspection have been prepared and proper staging is in place.

5.3. Upon completion of the work activities detailed by this procedure, assemble all inspection

documentation and review for accuracy and completeness. Final disposition of documents will

be in accordance with the Project Instructions.

    6. INITIAL INSPECTION - AT CONSTRUCTION COMPLETION

6.1. Verify that the piping system is complete as identified by system boundaries and that it is

installed in accordance with the drawings, (P&ID's, flow diagrams, isometrics, etc.), and project

    specifications.

6.2. Verify hanger, support, and slide plate locations, orientation, and installations are correct as

    noted on the drawings.

6.3. Verify rod hangers have sufficient (at least 1-1/2"), showing on all rods at turnbuckles and that all

rods are double nutted and tight.

6.4. Verify design clearance is present between U-Bolts and their associated piping for axial

    movement, as applicable.

    structural members.

6.6. Verify all temporary support devices (wire slings, wood wedges, etc.), have been removed.

6.7. Verify all variable spring hangers have stops installed prior to cold position setting.

6.8. Verify that the material for hangers, supports, and slide plates attached to alloy piping/ductwork

are proper at the interface point.

6.9. Verify all hangers, supports, and slide plates are hung from/mounted to appropriate structure and

not from other pipes, equipment, or cable tray.

6.10. Verify steam line hangers and supports have hydrostatic test pins/stops removed as a result of

hydrostatic test completion and the lines are drained.

6.11. Verify ductwork hangers, supports and associated slide plates are installed in accordance with

    the project drawings and specifications.

6.12. Verify proper installation of insulation and lagging per contract requirements. Verify proper

insulation and lagging clearance exists at each hanger, support, and slide plate.

6.13. Document the installed state of the system hangers, supports, and slide plates including air

gaps, shims, and baseplate concrete expansion anchors installed, as applicable, on Form MTP-

006-01, "Hanger and Support Checklist." Attach list(s) of incomplete, unresolved, and/or

    discrepant items as applicable.

    7. FINAL INSPECTION (COLD) PRIOR TO INITIAL SYSTEM OPERATION

7.1. Verify all items of Section 6, "Initial Inspection - At Construction Completion," have been

inspected and documented. Review inspection sheets and verify that all incomplete/unresolvedissues have been adequately addressed.

7.2. Verify the system is in a cold state, (filled and vented for liquid systems and drained for steam

    systems).

7.3. Verify hangers, supports, and slide plates are plumb and their associated rods are vertical,

(offset only as shown on specified hanger and support drawings allowed).

7.4. Verify spring hanger travel stops are removed and properly stored.

7.5. Verify spring cans are set at COLD position with the pipe filled and vented for liquid systems and

    drained for steam systems.

7.6. Verify hanger and support travel stops do not obstruct position-setting markers.

7.7. Inspect all system piping hangers and supports and their associated piping systems for proper

clearance. Document any hangers and supports appearing overloaded or having insufficient

clearance. Attach documentation to Form MTP-006-01, "Hanger and Support Checklist."
