CMS Sensormeeting 06.12.00:

Probestation 1: 6“ (200mm * 300mm + 360° rotation + 15mm Z)

Mechanical Assembly ready

Instruments: LCR, Electrometer, PS, Quasistatic CVmeter

Probestation 2: 4“ (100mm * 100mm + 15mm Z) (IQC)

Working (old software version)!

improvements planned:

increase of max. movement 200m stage ordered

4“ 6“

CMS Sensormeeting 06.12.00:

Vacuum Chucks 4 individual vaccum systems to cope with the different sensor geometries

Masks for all sensors types to cover free vacuum channels

Actual chuck has a leak in the cooling channel good a RT

Bias supply travels with sensor

System to spill air onto COLD sensors

We will build 3 improved versions beginning January.

Actual: one „WARM“ Chuck + intermediate chuck present

CMS Sensormeeting 06.12.00:

New Software 95% ready.

Switching Devices (3 of 4) ready 16 channels for each station.

New framegrabber cards (Nat. Inst. PCI 1408) + IMAQ VISION software; programming underway.

Storage present: large old metal chemical cubboard ~ airtight, flooded with dry air.

Piping system ready to be installed (partly done) (vaccum, cooling liquid, dry air)

Chiller present

Precision Hygrometer ordered, evaluation object tested (next slide)

RH in probestation goes down to 0.4% at RT and 4% at –10°C

CMS Sensormeeting 06.12.00:

HygrometerFirst instrument (shown at last meeting) is not sufficient for our purpose:

Precision only „good“ at a certain temperature, linear correction is not enough:

Readout jams the system because it uses the system interrupts (works fine but slowly under DOS)

New system:

Controls up to 4 sensors RH; T, Dew Point + others

RS232 bus: unidirectional ASCI transmission possible to readout with many PCS.

High Precision at all temperatures (2D correction matrix)

We tested it from RT to –10°C

Drawback: CHF 2000.– for Control + CHF 450.– each Sensor (add.10% rebate)

Experience from first Irradiation and cold measurements

Cyclotron run successful.

Cool box during irrad. OK – still room for improvements!

Chuck has to be improved – principle is ok.

First strip measurements with bricolage cooling chuck done.

Humidity under control.

Two additional cold boxes for IV and CV are under construction.

Oven for annealing installed.

Yesterday ( Dec 5): first test with biased structures during Irrad.
