Community Mental Health WorkforceStrategy Forum

Get involved in this unique event and put your stamp on the future of our

sector's workforce! The development of the Workforce Strategy is at a crucial

phase and requires your input to ensure it captures the essence of who we are ,

how we work and why.

This event will showcase and build on the work of the Community Mental

Health Workforce Strategy, a joint iniave of the Workforce Council and

Queensland Alliance, funded by Skills Queensland. Over the past two years the

Strategy has brought stakeholders from across the sector together to:

build a cohesive sector-wide approach to workforce planning and

development;

dene the values and principles that underpins good pracce; and

idenfy requisites for a Centre for Community Mental Health that builds

and sustains capacity for research, educaon and proling best pracce.

The forum also oers the opportunity to work with internaonal and local

sector leaders to explore current and emerging workforce challenges and seek

collaborave opportunies to address these in sustainable and inclusive ways.

We welcome parcipaon from all workers, leaders, consumers, carers, family

members and teachers with an interest in how we can work together to

strengthen community mental health.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER - Robyn Shearer

Robyn Shearer is the Chief Execuve for Te Pou the Naonal Centre for Mental Health

Research, Informaon and Workforce Development in New Zealand. Robyn has over

20 years experience working in mental health services including leading the

development of naonal workforce plans and iniaves. Robyn believes in

encouraging strong leadership and excellence in evidence-based care.
